But are you sure as a hot hatch it will look nice? Will it look stunning? Remember this is not like BMW, Merc or Audi where almost all car models from small to largest have the same face. They might share lights but not the same face. So if you think about this car and how it looks good in its size. Imagine if you shrinked it to a size of a hot hatch. Do you think it will still look as good? Because I've got a feeling that it won't be as sporty or as good looking as it does in a SUV form. Think about it. Most of these car brands are starting to use more or less the same face or back end and I'm sorry I don't think it would look like if you scaled down the design of this car.

They are saving the black headlimer for their "luxury" brands - Omoda and Jaecoo. Only on the flagship models though, i.e C9 and J8. Also on the 2025 Tiggo 9 I think it will be an option if I am not mistaken

True it’s not fair for it to be compared to such cars. In the same breath it means cherry is doing the most to even be pit up against such heavy weights. To be honest Cherry is killing all its competition in the same price Range. Infact there is no competition at its price range, all of the competition are a million rand upwards 😂🤣😂😂. If they can manage and EV with decent millage per charge it’s GAME OVER

What you may not know is that they build JLR cars in China and have actually been sharing technology and in the higher market Chery brands even parts. Chery's build quality is of a very very high standard. In my opinion, they are in the same bracket as the conventional luxury brands with regards to quality, some brands I think Chery is even better. The only thing is that the new Chery does not have legacy and thats the only thing right now that is giving the conventional luxury brands some standing still

My sentiments, exactly. He should be comparing it to the Honda's, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan X-trail, Rav 4, Mazda CX 5, Haval H6, Mahindra Xuv500 , etc. All the aforementioned cars are under powered with less torque except the diesel derivatives in the Kia & Hyundai which of course are naturally fuel efficient as expected from diesel engines. Now let's compare this to its petrol counterparts mentioned above. All of them have bigger fuel tanks giving the illusion of better fuel efficiency. This car's FWD version has a 51 litre tank which is similar to a Polo Vivo, Renault Sandero, Kia Rio, etc and yet is almost double their kerb weights. Of course, it would have higher fuel consumption with those power and torque figures moving that amount of mass. Perhaps a better comparison would be the Mahindra Xuv 500 with similar kerb mass, power and torque figures + is petrol driven but has a larger fuel than even this vehicle's AWD with a 57 litre tank; which is perceived to be more frugal but is the same apples to apples. If you put the same fuel tank and power-torgue figures in the petrol versions of the Toyota Rav 4, Nissan X-trail, Kia's, Hyundai's, etc ( all FWD); you would mostly likely get the same fuel consumption figures as this car. This is notwithstanding that if those aforementioned vehicles were fully laden with adult occupants, luggage and maybe even towing; those cars would struggle a lot especially uphill which is where this car comes in handy. I guess it's a trade off like anything in life. If you want to be Lewis Hamilton and enjoy better pulling and power delivery, get the AWD but expect higher fuel consumption like in most AWD. Most car manufacturers opt for the FWD to reduce fuel consumption especially in dry markets like ours and Australia where there's little wet conditions in terms of snow, dew, mist and heavy rains most of the year. Personally, I love this facelift and the only let down is the small fuel tank and the removal of fog lights on this AWD version which I believe add to the aesthetic appeal of the car.

@@SwitchOffSouthAfrica Thanks for this, I think it's to be expected for a big car with petrol engine. It would be nice if they could put an 80 lt tank like the Sorento has. 😅 Right now it has 50 I think, meaning a polo vivo I once drive has a bigger tank at 55 lt
