After I complete the high peaks this is next on my list the outdoors are all around amazing but you guys make it seem like there’s no reason not to go “it’s free, no permits it’s public land” can’t wait thx for the content

Thanks for sharing. That trip looks like the dream! I had read carts were illegal on the portages in the Adirondacks so I never considered coming. Can I use a cart up there? There is no chance I could carry my canoe over rocky ground but dragging a canoe cart and paddling 15 to 30 miles days is very doable.

I have been canoeing in the ADKs for more than 40 years and never heard that. People use carts on the carries all the time.
