It’s not completely pop. Take a listen to blue and all other songs besides scary love, void, and stuck with me. They keep the same gloomy vibe and aesthetic. If they are your favorite then you wouldn’t feel that way

i love how open and inviting he seems in this video it's really easy to forget how cool and chill this guy is when you just get to see his dark and intense stage persona

This makes me a little sad, i mean, they try to be pop right now, and the thing that i loved more was their fresh rock sounds. They are happy and that is nice, just, it's not the same, all good stuff always ends :(
It’s actually amazing. Don’t get stuck in one sound. Sound evolves and that’s the beauty of music. Especially with them, they still keep the same gloomy feel and aesthetic. They’re very consistent with putting great content out .
o no i feel bad for liking their darker alternative ones because i feel like they did it because they felt they had to. :( i love all of the music though
Hm... I think it was maybe more so that they've always liked pop but with the stuff Jesse's been through the music he wrote inherently came out darker and thus the fans of alternative music gravitated towards that more, which is the unintentional part, I guess? Because even their new album still has their sound and vibe, it's just a bit more positive. But I don't think he could write the music he did if it didn't come out of true experience and how he felt, if that makes any sense? It would just be hard to force that, to me at least.
Katie Whitie very true and well said. I hope it's that way and not forced. And you're right, the new album does have the same sound so I was a bit confused about it. I just love it all and I hope they're all happy with what they're doing.
