I truly believe that the emergence of an unregulated outlet upon which people can advertise themselves has had a negative impact on the self esteem of todays youth. Connectivity has made us more disconnected than ever and there is a growing pressure to show a better version of ourselves, causing us to disconnect from our true-selves. So forget the magazine covers and ads that used to create such controversy, the social media self-advertising boom is the new adversary creating an ever more unreachable goal for the young people that are unfortunately so addicted to these apps and websites. But what can be done? Let's discuss how to use these platforms for good, how to use them to inspire, and how to use them to really try and make a difference in the world Having begun his career in Modelling he has worked alongside top quality brands including Calvin Klein, Tom Ford and Tommy Hilfiger. Known also for coming second on the ITV show "Love Island". A Director and Writer he creates documentaries which he refers to as his "Passion Projects" which he uses as a way to raise as much awareness as well as get important messages across through the art of Film. A keen Boxer he is passionate about the sport and partakes in Charity Boxing Matches frequently. Known primarily for his philanthropic approach to life he has made it his mission to use this platform to raise as much awareness as possible surrounding mental health and other important causes. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
