Here's how you might approach it: To pitch yourself as the Facility Manager, start by pinpointing the current issues and use your 5S, lean manufacturing, and facility management experience to propose solutions. Put together a simple plan showing how you’d streamline operations, boost safety, and manage the move to the new building. Everybody wants to see an "ROI/ROR/ROE" etc" Then, ask for a quick chat to present your ideas, maybe even suggest a small project to prove your approach..think of it like an 'earn out strategy.' @@facilityvalley Thank you for the advice. The current system...let's call it dirty garage work...is lacking anything that can give a proper feedback of wasted hours, people doing jobs that are not in their descriptions and tool costs, some people just ordering stuff without assesing if actually it's neeeded or not. Also I'm already researching the CMMS system that would fit our needs as in my opinion even a new building need a proper PM plan. Small project I already did. On my previous job we used to build production line parts fit the need as well as complete new line too, and whit this knowledge on production area I replaced some of the old dodgy looking movable tables with some customized shelving units and that costed around 1500€ but reduced the build time with about 25% which is around 3000€ gain on that production run. For sure there is a lot and just looking at some of the issues I can tell them what they could expect as improvement but as there is no current data avialble I need to see how I can prove them it will work.
