I’ve served in the military and been all over the world including 3 deployments to the Middle East. Here’s my opinion. The only flag that should be flown in America is the American Flag. Not some alternative versions of the flag but only the true Red, White, & Blue. American Flag.
Well, he was flying the flag properly under and subordinate to the official flag. Thank you for your service, but you served to uphold the US Constitution, your opinion doesn't matter in this.
Former Marine here. I swore an oath to uphold The Constitution and defend the right of our countrymen to exercise free speech, especially on their own property. That man has every right to fly whatever flag he sees fit.
That's all I've been trying to say, if it's not the old Red White and Blue I fought under then it has no meaningful cause in these United States. I'm glad it's a nuisance that won't be accepted.
I don't recall the black lives movement people altering the American flag. Let's agree that all lives matter and we pledge allegiance to the same one flag.
No, BLM burned actual American flags as well as their own communities to the ground. Since you think you're so clever you should note the TBL flag is not an "altered" flag, but a variation that was designed based on the flag... A defaced or "altered" flag would be adding to, painting on or cutting out sections of the Official flag as pointed out by U.S. code Title 4 Chapter. 1 § 8 (G) "The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.. " 🤡
There have been alterations of the American flag among the black activist communities, including the US flag in the colors of the pan-African flag, as well as an all-black and white flag.
If anything the dang firemen serve a greater purpose and people wouldn't actually have a problem with them creating a united flag instead of a us vs. them flag.
"Desecration" no it's really not. It's an altered US flag that's printed and sold on websites. It's not like this guy got a US flag and tampered with it himself. Would you accuse black activists and the LGBTQ+ communities of "desecrating" tha US flag, since they and various individuals have made, printed and displayed various versions of the flag including ones in pan-African and rainbow colours.

That "signage" on those doors are all religious symbols. thus protected under the 1st Amendment just like this flag, which was properly displayed subordinate to the American flag.
The blue line, red line...any line/picture/emblem that covers the true red, white and blue colors of the flag is a desecration of the flag. Those colors and the way they are presented on the flag are done so purposefully and mean something. I committed 4 years of my life fighting for the Red, White and Blue...not the white, blue and black.
The Thin Blue Line flag isn’t a US flag so it doesn’t violate the flag code . Now if someone took a actual US flag and sewed a blue line on it then it is a violation of the flag code . I also fought to defend people’s freedom even if I don’t like what they do to the flag and that includes burning it .
people like you and all our other vets, are getting slapped in the face by this, and I'm really sorry you have to come home to see this on our own law enforcement in uniform!

Former Marine here. It's not a desecration of an existing flag. It is its own flag. I served and fought so my countrymen could express themselves freely under the protection of the US Constitution. They can fly any flag they want, as far as I'm concerned. The fact that he flew the American Flag above the one he flew in honor of his slain son should prove to you that he's a patriot and respects our nation. Regardless whether you agree with it or not, if you took the same oath I did, you need to honor it and allow our nation's citizens to exercise their Constitutionally protected right to freedom of speech.
They wanted a neighborhood free from political statements. Understandable. But the H.O.A.'s interpretation is strictly opinionated. But you do live in a democratic county. In a time where dems aren't supporting 1st responders. Sad.
