Fact and Opinion defines and differentiates between these two types of statements. Usage of both facts and opinions are demonstrated in everyday life situations with an emphasis on clues that can signal whether a statement is indeed a fact or an opinion. The value of understanding fact and opinion as a critical thinking and reading comprehension skill is emphasized. Students are encouraged to actively participate within the video as “think time” is given to analyze statements and search for clues to categorize each as a fact or opinion within the framework of a newspaper restaurant review.
