When he called to tell me the news that he was diagnosed, thats when i made the connection that I must have had it a few months earlier. A year later my double - at the time - vaccinated roomate got covid , probably the omicron strain which as they said is highly contagious, still nothing with me. Am I simply lucky?? Or is the imunity factor? I am 65, slightly overwheight, healthy male and a smoker. Go figure...!!!

He says the way immunity works, after you've had it, is not solely dependent on the presence of antibodies after you've been infected. Beyond that, your B and T-cells in your bone marrow "remember" what it took to kill the infection and can recognize it if it were to reinvade the body. If coronavirus were to invade the body again (in healthy people) the B and T-cells know how to make the antibodies needed to kill it.
