They are okay, but don't collect an army for how strong thwy are, collect it because they are cool to you. Then you'll have fun painting and playing them.

@@tomnookssweetass9004 Oh, no worries. It seems to me that GW havev done a fairly good job balancing the game. I'll only be playing my friends anyways. I'm only asking to get an idea of how they play, not whether or not they are "good" :) I thought I'd be buying aeldari, then I noticed that the votann are really cool and then I saw some of the insane miinis they've made for admech and I was sold. They really look like a lot of fun! More insane minis for 40k, please, GW! :) I do feel that GW are being a lot more creative with the Sigmar minis in general, but the admech look like a lot of fun. I'll be jumping onboard with Sigmar as well when the next edition comes out ;)

They're in a weird spot right now. GW has seemingly had a tough time balancing them so to buff them theyve been reducing their points. It makes AdMech somewhat of a horde army with some of the worst points per dollar ratios in the game (it's an expensive faction to collect and field). The Skitarii have statlines very similar to Guardsmen which is a bit of a fluff dud. The meta, which has made them competitively viable, has been to skew Kataphrons. Overall the army is generally weak, but our codex is dropping this weekend. We already know all the rules, but it's too early to say if it will make the army feel significantly better. Overall though, the models are sick and the stuff in the codex seems fun even if it's not strong. Rule of thumb is models are cool forever, rules are only cool until the next change, so get whatever faction you like best.

Don't think about rules when picking your army, those will change often and dramatically. Pick your army for the lore and the aesthetic because those are much less likely to change, and your models will always look cool

If I can give you a reccomendation, choose whichever army you want. Rules be damned. If you're playing against friends you won't have issues as 40k tends to be balanced enough outside of competitive play.
