First off I will apologize for the long boring video, but I felt like this video would be a little more beneficial than a normal install video. If you have any questions about the ultrahook, any other factor-55 products or questions about the Jeep then leave a comment and I’ll be more than happy to answer them!
As for the SwitchPod system, 20% off any switch system on the site with the code JKGG20. Stay tuned for an install video on that bad boy, check them out below!

The comment regarding “running out of mods” was 100% honest and that is not all that common. Most of the You-Tube vids imply the concept that A) you have to get this. It could be life or death. Or B) you don’t want to be the only guy on the trail who doesn’t have this. Production was great as always and the candid comments were well taken.

That's the exact reason I bought my Ultrahook, kinda just ran out of things to upgrade without spending stupid money, like motor swaps and what not. Love the look and functions of the Ultrahook.

I have the ultra hook, it’s a little pricy but it truly is the best if the best 2 way hook out there, period!

It's okay if there's a lot of info, that's no problem. As a positive criticism though, I would suggest making a list of the positives and negatives and displaying all of them on the screen at the very beginning. This way, if I get distracted, I can make sure I get all of your points. Personally, I went with the FlatLink because I can carry my regular (Bandland Apex) hook with me if I absolutely need it. With the FlatLink, I can use any of my (multiple size) bow shackles with either the pin or bow, in a closed system setup. Both have their positives & negatives, but I highly doubt there will be any situation where I can't use any 3 sizes of my bow shackles, in either orientation. 3 sizes, each being able to be used in either bow or pin orientation, that's 6 different configurations with just my bow shackles. Awesome video! Just thought I would give my 2 cents why I went with the FlatLink. Oh, and I carry multiple soft shackles as a last resort lol.

Think you mean winch? Having a wench with 9500# plus pulling power is impressive and scary and should be tested for excess horse steroids.

I prefer the prolink ,the price is much better and does just as good as flat link or ultra hook, the ultra hook just to bulky looking for me, I would go with flat link over those 2 but I still think the prolink better bang for your buck, I love mine

I have heard about this strange phenomenon that you speak of. Run out of Jeep mods? Huh... You know I consider this myth to be similar to a unicorn. It is just that... a myth. This phenomenon clearly does not exist in reality! Run out of Jeep mods... Hahaha.. I run the flat link. I like the closed winching. Just safer in my opinion. The only time it stinks is when you get yourself in a position with two people standing on your rock slider keeping you balanced from flopping while someone is trying to get you hooked up to winch yourself out of the situation. Then all of a sudden closed winching seems like a terrible idea! LOL

Is it possible to remove the ultrahook while securely fastened? Basically can someone easily and quickly steal it? This might be a dumb question but I’m not familiar with winch’s, however, I’m familiar with people stealing things off of my Jeep.
@JKGearandGadgets
@JKGearandGadgets 5 лет назад
Sadly yes. It’s not very easy to remove from the winch line, however like any hook, someone could unspool the winch line and cut the line

Honestly pretty easy, but then again I try not to live my life based on what people can steal. People could easily steal lots of things I own but I try not to let that deter me
@JKGearandGadgets
@JKGearandGadgets 5 лет назад
For example, would only take 1 minute to take off my taillights, about a minute to take my whole front bumper with the winch (only 4 bolts and cut the winch wires), cb antenna would be a quick grab, you see what I’m saying

Honestly to me, this item is right there with angry eye grills , lightbars, and other mall crawler things. I've never heard of a single winch hook failure and I've been doing hard core wheeling with many winch sessions for over 20 years. So I checked online a bit, and the ONLY stuff that even comes up under winch hook failures is advertisement videos for Factor 55...……. In my opinion they built a product and are just trying to come up with a reason why you need to buy it. When you don't.
@KTMcaptain
@KTMcaptain 2 года назад
A replacement winch hook is like $27 and one can easily keep it under one’s seat. It’s not quite the same as putting a $2k KC lightbar rated to 1 miles of luminosity for the 15mph of off road use. . Though, some people will drop $3k on rims alone just for the bling factor, so a shinny hood ornament isn’t really at issue. . I got mine 100% for looks and I’m ok with that. That’s also why my Jeep has painted roof and fenders and led lights. Well not 100%. I wanted a closed system but also keep the utility of a hook. So like 98%. . I’ve done more honor badge trails than malls crawled, so it’s not really a mall crawling part. 70% of my miles are from adventures and it’s my daily to work. Have used traction boards, tires deflators, tow straps, my shovel, sand bags, and co2 tank. Sadly the only thing I’ve recovered was my sister in laws Corolla that she drove onto a curb. But I looked so cool doing it.

I cannot justify spending that much money on something like that. I have never seen a standard hook fail. I have seen cable, chain and synthetic line break but never a hook.

Same here it looks neat but 250 bucks? It is $100 over priced.

It’s not the hook that’s an issue, it’s that stupid little clasp that gets broken.

Yup. If these were really that revolutionary all the professional Industries would hop all over them but as the owner of a towing company the regular hooks work just fine they always have and there's no reason to buy ridiculously overpriced nonsense like this
@mikehancho5286
@mikehancho5286 Год назад
@@MNDashcam Exactly. I would lile to see the ASTM where these are the standard/performed method in rigging.
@phillipcraggs6202
@phillipcraggs6202 3 года назад
A closed system is fine, but you don't need this ultrahook to do it. Just use a shackle, eg Eyelet-shackle-rope. Why spend $250 to go Eyelet-ultrahook-shackle-rope? Unless you are using the hook, in the ultrahook, which defeats the purpose of a closed system. This makes no sense to me. I'm ok with a good basic hook, then its just eyelet-hook-rope, which is faster imo. Maintain the hook like you should with everything on your rig, and you won't have any issues. Oh, and to say a hook isn't as strong, is wrong, you can get hooks that are rated for over 12,000lbs.
@danlux4954
