Yes that is true Patrick...most not all...my professor is a bit boring...as a teacher you must have abilty to capture your students attention...I would make some come up to the board and work some problems, esp. the texters...lol..keep up the good work

+nnhdanick nnhdanick in class we believe we don't need it but if homework is due or test is near, then we believe we need it, our perspective changes and our mind is captured, engrossed therefore more spongy. plus in class there's distractions, is fast pace and sometimes teachers just suck, lol. youtube you have all the time in the world.

Thanks Patrick! I am taking an online algebra course, in which we have two different video instructors. One guy is AWESOME, but the lady that does a minority of the other power point videos couldn't explain her way out of a paper bag if her life depended on it. You pretty much helped me save my quiz score ahead of taking the quiz. Your video explains this concept far better than the woman who did our power point could have ever done! I wish we had video lessons like this 20-30 years ago when I was flunking math in high school. I now get A's- proof we get finer with age:-)

@nm2941 you can rewrite 8x^3 as (2x)^3 and 64y^6 as (4y^2)^3 so that you have: (2x)^3 - (4y^2)^3 and then you just use the formula.

I'm actually reviewing for my first periodical examination in Math. I'm taking a special exam since I was absent during the examination days. I had a lot of things assigned on me, and I'm really screwed up. I have three exams per day in three days, while I have projects, portfolios, and other tasks to do. I have such a limited time in reviewing for my special exams, but you really helped me a lot. There are a lot of topics that are included on the pointers to review, and you just solved one there. Thanks a lot!

I love the way you presented, it was very clear. However, wouldn't it be easier for students (if you are a teacher) just to remember: First, write it without the cube. Opposite sign. Product of the two. Add the square. (To a sortof beat) I think that would be easier than memorizing the two formulas.
