Oh my god what a magnificent base! The amount of obsessive attention to detail for everything is just mind blowing!! What a great base! Thanks so much for the excellent tour of this base Xtermintor! Nicely done!
Could/would you mind using the max rate calc mod while doing these tours? It would help a lot with you going "huh this is an interesting use of modules" or "well this is an odd ratio" You could just check if its a ratio thing, or a certain amount of production.
If I remember correctly, copper as a 1:1 ratio. So If you use productivity modules you will have to deal with the extra output. therefore it's gonna take 1 belt input a 1.x belts in output. Thus you need an extra train station to load it. Productivity is more usefull when it comes to production with a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio.
Amazing base! Thanks for the tour, gives me a lot of ideas again :-) 30:18 IIRC full prod moduled wire production gives more than one belt of wires, which makes belting and outputting it a pain. In my base I had to resort to using boxes AND belts to get those transferred. 36:10 doubling the base would do no good. It has to be 8 times to not destroy the symmetry :P
Ah right, I forgot about the cable on belt ratio stuff. My lack of belt use shows lol. Ah yes, you're right, maintaining the symmetry at all costs is a most! Glad it gave you some ideas. Its really an amazing base!
the fact that there are huge ore patches scattered in this base makes me nuts. am I the only one that clears ore before building upon it? It would be such a perfect build otherwise
What Is the point of Building this type of base? With no enemy, empty map fake logistic. I think this is one of the less rewarding way to play factorio but very click catcher on RU-vid.
I like how they „speed beaconed“ the storage chests. Also on the rails for purple science: It seems as if only one of four train stops had rails in the buffer and a lot of empty trains arrived. So a rail production/loading issue is more likely.
