2024 and still love factory. im actually in this video. it was a long ass day at the ol wired frog. we shot take after take for the video, and then after filming wrapped, they played a full set to celebrate. god what i wouldnt do to go back and relive those days.
Late 90s/Early 2000s was such a special time. Silent Hill game franchise, WWE was awesome, Nu-Metal at it's peak, Blair Witch Project/Ring movies coming out. Good times.
@@nickbernath741 It is. Ded, We Are Band Nerds, Darke Complex, Backwordz, My Ticket Home, and Dropout Kings are all great new (2016 or newer) Nu Metal bands.
I could tell you some aweosme stories about Andy Cyrulnik. I was there when he went from a kid struggling to stay on time and on-beat to a fantastic, creative drummer in less than a year. He and I put out an album also a few years before he joined F81.
Dude those bands are so underrated, I used to watch great bands come through a club called headliners in Toledo, saw so many shows there, great memories
Can speak from experience that they were the nicest dudes from shows back in the day. Nate was a very quiet and polite dude. So many people acted like rock stars but they were always super sweet and humble.
God this band was so great.. I still remember seeing them live @ st Andrew's in Detroit.. Arizing opened up for them.. im thankful I got to see them both in my younger years
I'm older and was a teenager in the late '60s / early '70s; the metal of that era was a precursor to, or pales in comparison to the metal of this era, like this band. They take it to another level, like on steroids! So powerful, so fine-tuned, so fantastic!
One of the most underrated Nu-Metal bands. The cover of 'Insane in the Brain' was great. I think a long with Crossbreed, Relative Ash, and even American Head Charge, Factory 81 were overlooked. Was a fun time but it besides Korn and Limp Bizkit, it seemed the only popular nu-metal groups either had everybody with face paint or masks.
I remember years ago meeting Factory 81 at a local record store named Record Time and getting the VHS of this video along with meeting the guys! They were all really cool, the singer was very shy though! either way miss these guys!
They were the hottest rock band here in the metro Detroit area of Michigan for hard rock numetal at the time, just go ask the kids at the wired frog in the late 19997-1998. first signed to medea records then to universal.bad ass band, and Nate was a sick singer, thanks to the tempermill recording studio, and tony who did a great job tracking this album mankind on a limited budget...
Yup. And I first found out about them in 2000 from some previous friends of mine. They took me to the Wired Frog and saw them in concert. Such a badass concert! Had a summer crush on Nate. Lol
Lyrics to the heavy part The way you work, the way i listen, you are present And I'm mellow when i'm fine Never meant i never been to all You wouldn't want your sole You only wanna know the things that i say And you're the one in front of me Nate told me
Man this album was SO FIRE I'm 31 and this album, papa roach infest albums to this day are still FIRE. Those 2 albums belong in all time best. Of course white pony needs in that
Factory81 is no more. My cousin is Billy Schultz and they went into the studio to record there second album and couldnt seem to get everyone to do there part. Seems some were to busy to be rock stars. I mean who wants to travel the world for free, have chicks throwing them selfs at you, and have fun doing it? SIGN ME UP. They would have had to kick my ass out of the studio.
Yep reminds me of Zach big-time but that scream he has is sick....been cool if rage and f81 toured together back then would have been a good fit..I seen rage with Wu Tang clan and it was not a good fit at all..people left when Wu came on then people left when rage came on them 2 just didn't fit maybe if it was multiple bands they would have but it just didn't work..weird atmosphere.
I used to have the VHS of this video also. I got it while leaving a Slaves on Dope show in St. Louis only a few days after seeing Factory 81 live. They put on a great show. I miss seeing them, Slaves on Dope, and Relative Ash in concert
The ol Wired Frog, it was such a great venue for young bands and young fans. And Factory 81 I always thought was wrongly pinned as just nu-metal. I doubt Bill or Kevin remember me, but I auditioned in between Jamie and Andy. I still see Nate from time to time. He was at one of my last shows in MI and got to hang out for a bit. Always good times. Ps Andy was waaaay more seasoned then, than I had even thought about being at that time and loved his playing in the band. Sleeper on Mankind-Sludge. That ending is SICK w Nates vox.
I have photos from around 2000, hanging with the band. We spent all night on their bus, drinking and smoking. Just having a great time. I wish I knew how to contact them, just to send them the photos.
I follow the sundown Until it hits me Never bring it back now Forever want you to see No, we've been through so fine Just to cover a lie Different friend I'm alive No, you will sit there and try To pretend it's alright When they fuck with your life, yeah Watch your back don't do the things that you won't wanna see You're wacked yourself cause you're living out your pocket, dream Not your face as you wanna take away again Get your back. Living out your pocket dream Catch yourself as you look again The offers slipping in the fast lane Hit yourself as you hit the wall It's that time to fall Hit your back and you'll be what you wanna see You're wacked yourself cause you're living out your pocket, dream Hit your back cause you wanna take away again Hit yourself, living out your pocket dream What's up now you fucking hoe? I am a wanna-be Let your sleep and the dreams that are never good Do watch yourself but i wanna make someone a part Off the box as you wanna take away again Watch yourself, getting off your pocket dream Hit yourself as you lose can go (control?) You were sitting in the fast lane Hit your back as you hit the wall Now it's that time to fall Not yourself cause you'll be what you wanna see You are the one who's been living out this pocket dream Hit yourself as you wanna take away again Watch your back, living out your pocket dream I Yeah I fight, and i'm blacked again I Nothings what it seems The way you work, the way i listen, you are present And I'm mellow when i'm fine Never meant i never been to all You wouldn't want your sole You only wanna know the things that i say And you're the one in front of me Now, do hit me, i lie Now, you hit me, i lie Oh yeah Yeah I Yeah I I don't hear or know what you say All through the year and now i melt down I watched it all as it rinsed away I love the things that i've called you I fake it all and now i wash again I have the pains again in side me I paint it all as i strip away All of the things that are riling And I forgive you for all the lies Enter my face and see through me And all the pain that i tucked away The things that i thought defy me And I will fear as I will see And i will fear with you once again I thank myself and live forever, and ever No, thought your gonna bite right through another friend Are the one who's been living with some (redneck) I'm suprised that you wanna take away again Hit your back, living out your pocket, dream No, we've been through so fine Just to cover a lie Different friend i'm alive Yeah
I remember the band I was in back in 02 covered this. I was the drummer of the band and I will say this song was a challenge to learn but if I can learn raining blood I could learn this.
This album came out when i was a freshmen in highschool...got me through some bullshit times, and also was a good soundtrack for the good times as well.
This band isn't the heaviest I've heard of, but the only one to seriously scare me from how angry they sound. "14 Left" is such an anger fueled song, it makes me scared of the singer.
