there is a caliper relocation bracket that moves the caliper to the top of the rotor. no cable interference when mounted up there. just need to swing the caliper to vertical position when you bleed the brakes.
@@randomwerks3763 I wonder if they are using a new bracket now. watch the video in this link. I have my cable routed outside of the shock so it can never touch the axle. comes straight out, no harsh bends. ru-vid.comhQyulS_O5HU
Thank you for the Great Build info, I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the kit, My only change will be going with a Gen 3 Coyote and Tremic 6 speed. I only wished I had your knowledge of your metal work. Thanks Again for your Great Information.
Congrats on getting close to pulling the trigger. I almost went with the coyote and in some way I wished I had, however I needed the extra space in the Ford Racing 302 gives me in the engine compartment. I’m doing some unique exhaust work up there and need the space. And I would gladly trade some of my metal working experience for a little auto experience. :)
In the end it will be your build but there are few good reasons to put a 6-speed in a light vehicle like the Roadster. Since the Coyote likes to rev, a little higher rpm on the freeway won't hurt and will put you closer to the powerband. The weight and fitment issues of a T-56 negate the benefit of a second overdrive ratio. IMO, the Tremec TKX would be the ideal choice.
You are putting a lot of thought into integrating your own needs and design preferences into the roadster esthetic. That being said, did you consider mounting the hand brake to a location that is easier for the driver to access?
Oh yes, that handbrake…. Truth is I’m planning on putting in an electric version at some point- probably next year. They are expensive so I need to budget for it.
Been waiting for a new vid! 🎉 By the way, since your first couple of videos are labeled “for children” when you published them in RU-vid Studio, and comments are disabled, RU-vid makes it impossible for any of us to turn on post notifications for any of your videos, even those that aren’t restricted. Might want to go back into Studio and edit those first two vids to specify that children are NOT present in the vids. Hopefully that will allow us to then hit that notification bell. Hope that made sense 😅
Dave thanks!!!! Wow, I didn’t even realize I had those first two vids categorized like that. I’ll go back and click “not for children”. A sincere thanks!
@@randomwerks3763my pleasure! It is odd that YT would do that. You could have a thousand videos, but if even just 1 is for kids, they blanket block your entire channel.
Thanks for the videos! I'm a little behind you but. building a similar car. I have a coyote with the irs. What brake cable P/N's are you using? Are they stock 2018?
Hi Jeff, Thanks for watching. Yes the cables are the stock units, I believe from 2018. They were the ones included with the kit. I’m out of town now, but when I get back I’ll check the P/N. There are days I wished I had gone with the coyote- went back and forth so much during in the beginning on the engine. In the end I opted for the SBF 302 to give me the space I needed in the engine bay to get creative with my exhaust/muffler arrangement (working on it now). I rode in a coyote powered roadster last year and WOW- crazy power and I loved the sound.
