If windows is already installed and you just want to reinstall, you can just go to system settings and under windows update there should be recovery options and you can reset the computer and it will reinstall windows automatically .
@@mattscomputerservicesno problem!, Just hold down shift and press restart, still hold the shift key wait until the "please wait" screen disappear and release the shift key. After that you'll see a blue screen. Press troubleshoot and reset this PC. And you good to go.
I got an lenovo ideapad flex 5i laptop recently, the problem is there is only 1 system account and it is connected to microsoft but I forgot my Microsoft acc password and when I tried opening by biometrics it keeps asking for pin which also I forgot, sent mail to ms but they declined now the main issue here is that bios, boot menu others work but system recovery wont work saying DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION, pls help what do I do
You can't do this for work laptop. First no Admin privilege and secondly a lot of company use their custom Windows Installation Image which is totally different from normal one, like custom apps and other stuff and remove a lot of apps. So the clean Windows installation is the only option.
Something very few people know to check for is absolute computrace. It can survive a reinstall or even hdd change. It will come back each time. If the previous employer does not remove it from the absolute account they still have access to the machine.
To do this with a chrome book you press the escape reload and power button keys all at the same time and hold them for a few seconds you will have the same option were you can insert a drive to reinstall chrome os
Worth noting this doesn't always work, some companies especially with Apple or surface computers are completely draconian and lock the computer to the company work account profile even if you completely replace the storage drive and reinstall windows or Mac OS because it's baked into the BIOS of the computer, no I do not agree with it if it's the very definition of malware and I'm sure one of those programs has a zero-day exploit waiting to be used and it's just morally wrong.
@abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyandz_ I can confirm that Linux is the solution. Also runs better than windows on surface devices once you get the platform profiles working. (Requires a custom kernel)

If you do not understand disk partitions ver well, I suggest not doing that and choose the default setting of completing reinstalling windows. Obviously, backup too
If you dont know your boot key just use delete, if that doesn't work then Then do this once your computer starts (works for both Windows 10 and 11) Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Advanced startup > Restart now > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings > Restart
What u can do is restart ur pc while it’s loading enter keys ctrl alt delete at the same time then go to uefi settings advanced and then reset this pc hope this help

I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon that runs super slow. Tried everything. Ram, CPU, Drivers, BIOS update and fresh install. Everything is super slow. Could this be a bad main board? It’s not crashing, just super slow. Got any advice? It’s 7th gen X1 Carbon.
For some reason I was able to go through startup repair and just factory reset from there but that might not be the same for other people (ironically mine was a ThinkPad as well)
Issue>> You receive a IBM lenovo notebook/Laptop and you get a prompt that tells you to enter a BIOS password programmed in the bios by the previous owner. Can you tell your audience how to tackle that most appearing B.S. first before giving your folks some false hope here. with IBM Lenovo laptops/Notebooks its the most annoying issue that you can run in to... and its not always as easy to resolve by removing the CMOS Battery.
@unusualgaming400 lol sure you can ask for the bios password which they won't give you because chances are that's the same password for all their devices. And the boot menu is literally part of bios 🤣 which btw 99% of enterprise motherboards do not have a bios password reset jumper like consumer motherboards do. That's for security reasons. They expect normal consumers to lock themselves out so they have that on normal motherboards.
@unusualgaming400 most employers don't just give old laptops to employees. They resell them or send them to recycling. Specifically for data security reasons and to save a penny here and there. If your company does let you have the old device you typically don't need to ask for them to remove the password because they nuke literally everything anyways. And you'll need a new ssd.
This depends on whether the license is associated with the hardware or with the organization. Typically, these OEM machines will come with their own licences, so it should activate automatically once it connects to the server.

you are telling me that a company let you take a company laptop as your personal and also LET you clean install windows? if you are in Europe this is literally illegal.
Makes sense if the machine is EOL anyway. Once you take it home, it's yours and you can do whatever you want with it. If the company has any clue what security is, they'll wipe the drive first.
