My chug was adopted from Colorado Pug Rescue after my last pug (Mr Bubba, blind, arthritic, loved walkies and car rides…. My constant companion), died from cancer, my Gemma came into my life. She makes me laugh everyday. She looks more chi then pug. She had the pug walking gait - sorta rolls. Gemma is always up for an adventure.
Is your chug in brat puppy stage? My Gemma’s brat puppy stage went from 1-2.5 years! Manners training had been rough because she can be stubborn? And yet so very affectionate. My Velcro dog.

Please stop making videos about mix breeds. It encourages irresponsible breeding. These dogs usually have major health problems because the people breeding them don't know the damage that breeding certain breeds together can cause. Some brain box decided to breed "miniature" pugs, they only live for four years, that's disgusting. If a dog gets caught by accident by a dog and has pups that's one thing, but encouraging this is another. The man who originally bred labradoodles said that he never would have because it's created a Frankenstein situation with people who are breeding different breeds and have no clue what they're doing or what the outcome may be. I guess some people are greedy and don't care about the health of their dog and the pups and others are beyond stupid for paying a fortune for a cross breed! I don't mean any disrespect or offence to anyone, and I know there's lots of lovely cross breeds out there but it's how I feel about the situation. You don't see humpback whales mating with orcas, only humans screw up nature because we can't leave things alone
I don't think it's right to tell someone not to make videos on a breed. It would be better to approach this issue from the standpoint of, "These breeds of dogs are dysgenic + have a lot of health problems because of it. Let's educate people about the different types of breeds that exist, and what sort of health issues they commonly have and why". Letting people know, through videos or other educational materials, about genetic problems dogs have is actively helpful. Not only does it educate people about the health problems their dog (or potential dog adoption) might have and how to treat or prevent some problems, but it will also help breeders to make healthier dogs. The only way to make pugs a healthier breed is through breeding and--dare I argue-- "mixed breeds". Mutts/mixed-breed dogs are often more healthy than purebred dogs, and to fix the genetics of an entire BREED of dog, you need to first encourage responsible breathing and the propogation of healthy genetics. Healthy genes can arrive through nature, like they have with many ancient dogs (like chihuahuas), or through human intervention. But human intervention speeds things up the most. In addition, whether a "chug" is bred intentionally or it occurred in nature, chihuahua-pug mixes end up in shelters all the time. There are "chugs" in the shelter right now, as we speak. (Don't believe me? Check yourself.) It's better to have information out there for people who want to adopt from a shelter/organization or find a dog off the street than it is to leave people in the dark about different breeds and temperaments. In conclusion, people are going to want to own certain types of dogs no matter what, but having accessible information about what the breeds are like isn't always possible. We must promote good genes and the spread of health information for all dogs, for the future of dogkind.
If you really knew all you say about breeding pugs you would know pure bread pugs can hardly breath. So yes mixing their genetics with other dogs is not life threatening. It's actually more helpful
Mutts are actually healthier than pure breeds, especially when a pug is involved. The Chihuahua in them helps to prevent more of the problems pugs face with their flat faces. Breeding generally should be curtailed, but you really should research mutts/mixes vs. pure breeds before you comment.

I had to rehome our first dog, a Yorkshire terrier, after a year for the same reason. I've had German shepherds for 28 years, I got my first before I met my hubby, and as soon as we moved into our first house we got one and we've had them for twenty years. 28 for me, got my first when I was 18! Like you, I wouldn't have any other breed, I'd love a dobie but I'm not fit for two dogs anymore, spinal problems, but I can't imagine life without a shepherd! It's a sad situation for you but I know how you feel and you stuck it out a lot longer than me!
Yet you kept her for 7 years instead of trying to find a home sooner that may have loved her vs. your hating her, where they probably would have actually put effort into helping her with that problem sooner? And if you asked your daughter to rehome her then it sounds like it was her dog not yours anyway. Sad for the dog that it got your hate all those years 😒
