Thats very true some even tell you tenera takes 4-5 years while supergene is 2-3 scsmmers i planted tenera it started fruiting at exactly 2 years 8 months
To buttress your facts, I wish to also state that there has not been any example of were the so-called supergene oil palms have been planted in Nigeria. To my knowledge, the advertisement of supergene has been on in Nigeria for over 10 years now. By now, there should have been at least one example of such farms flourishing in Nigeria, but none. Not even from any of the sellers of the seedlings. This fact reveals that there isn't any seedling different from the home improved seed, Tenera

Supergene is real, what you should have said is that supergene is still a from of tenera, Tenera is a generic name. All hybrid palms are developed from dura and pisifera but some hybrids are developed from improved parents materials, it might not be called supergene all over the world but I can assure you that we have superior plam seeds that are far better that what NIFOR is selling. You can look up for calix 600 yangambi ml161 AA Hybrida IS which is a semi-clonal DxP hybrid We have alot. Pl don't limit people to unproductive tenera that NIFOR sell.
You are one of the reasons scammers flourish.... Calix and Yamgambi are just market nomenclature given by producers. It doesn't change their (DxP) origin and you will always see that on its production info,they are still tenera. Nifor apart, why is Palmelit (The world leading oil palm research centre) not calling their improved tenera "supergene".... Listen to the video again and you will see where I mentioned that there are many improvements going on but that doesn't change the nomenclature if the two parents materials remain Dura and pisifera. Next time watch to understand and not just to criticize.
See there are alot of fake seeds/seedlings out there infact 95% of the seed/seedlings that are not from nifor are fake, but what i will tell you is that last time Nifor improved on their seed was more than 20 years ago and there are alot of better products out there. It could be called anything but it will have a Certificate and a proof of its genetic potential. Why don't Presco buy from Nifor? are you aware that presco seedlings fruits in 18 months?? Do you know that elite palm genetically modify their "tenera" to grow more width than hight?? People should research and not wait until they are told whether something is right or wrong. I'm a geneticist and I've been working on palms for over 2 decades. Also, I'm a farmer and I imported my planting materials both from palmelit and Malaysia and you can never compare them with NIFOR tenera. If you really want to have a conversation about this topic we can take it away from here instead of having an unproductive argument online.

These two are category of Tenera with some improvement.... They're never regarded as hybrid on their own. Their parent material is DxP but with some improvement
