Doc Hamiisi, pls can you send me the number of your agent in Nigeria for genetically improved goats like Kalahari red, boar and savannah? I heard you came to Nigeria recently. You are doing a nice work for us. Looking forward to your response. Thank you.
Don't mind this man, much as he gives you a few farming tips here and there, one thing he's not talking about is the market for all these products. Yes his ideas about grazing animals are great but then the end product is always a loss. Mr Hamis why don't you show us the market. Who is going to buy all the beef thats produced. It's a big challenge even to the government and don't tell me we luck quality products.
Uganda is the best Example. Today the litter of milk from a farmer ranges anywhere from 300ugx to 1300ugx, there is no capped price. The cost of feeds, treatment of the animal, labour is extremely expensive. The meat produce in uganda is not consumed at a rate that the country produces. What do I mean demand of meat in uganda is lower than the Supply and we have no viable market outside of our boundaries at our disposal that can consume our meat simply because the government is not interested in helping out a farmer.
