Depends on what you need. You'll notice that fafs decision making in defence is mental. He operates as a lone man, not part of the line in springbok defence, he has free reign to do what he wants and he uses it to shoot out, drift, run back to cover and nearly always singlehandedly kills an attacking move in it's infancy or final hurdle. He is clearly superioe to probably every other player in the world at this. Dupont is amazing with ball in hand. His step, his flat passes, his pinhead accurate cross kicks and grubbers. He can unlock a defence in an instant. Compare his skips passes to faf in this video. His are flat even on a 20metre pass. Faf throws a big loopy pass giving defence an extra 2 seconds to drift. Aaron Smith shouldn't be in the discussion. The nz coaching staff don't even play him against springboks because when their ruck is under pressure he can do nothing. He is only good because of his spped to the ball, he can't make anything if his forwards aren't going forward in the tackle. We know this because AB's always pay perenara against springboks. Hansen wishes he has pre 2015 piri weepu to call on
