So when i get to the signature parts, I have to print that page out, manually sign it, then I have to mail it, and wait at least 5 days before I can submit my FAFSA application?

Currently this is an issue with fafsa and they seem to be working on the issue. I haven’t heard word on when this would be fixed … anyone know when this would be opening up? Or a work around? Paper copy?

@@jocelyncastilleja9189 oh yeah so I got my financial reward from some schools and had to call some schools to explain my situation to them. Some schools will need to know the situation so they’ll know how to go about it.

Hello Ingrid, for FAFSA you are independent because of age (at least 24 years old or older), therefore, you are not required to answer any questions about your parents.

No, only parent who has an SSN can create a FAFSA account. Just create an account for yourself. Put all 0’s for parent’s social, print signature page, have parent sign and mail it in to department of ed. (FAFSA will guide you through this process with prompts).

Hello Bilva, you need to get your SSN to apply for FAFSA. It’s required for federal aid. Please let me know if you have other questions.

What should I do if I don’t live in the us but I’m a citizen? My parents doesn’t have a SSN and can’t sign manually since we don’t have how to send it by mail. Is it possible to sign it with a digital signature tool and then print that pdf in the us?

You would put all 0's for parent's SSN and convert any non-US currency income made (if applicable) to US dollars. Then, you would electronically sign your FAFSA with your ID and password and print the signature page so that parent can sign. You would need to mail in the signature page to the address provided and wait at least 5 business days for your FAFSA to be updated with parental signature. Hope that helps!

Hello! Please log back in and change their ITIN numbers to all 0’s if they don’t have an SSN. Then, you have to sign and submit your FAFSA and print parent signature page and have parent sign and mail in (since parents cannot create a FAFSA ID and password without an social security number) to the address on the signature page. Please allow a minimum of 1 week for your FAFSA to be updated. Please let me know if u have other questions.

@@diegolopez1854 have u tried to log back in again to change it? Your FAFSA may have been locked for processing. Worst case scenario, if you cannot log in still, you can call 1-800- 4- FED-AID and request for them to mail your Student Aid Report (SAR) and make the changes manually. It will take longer but they will update it once you mail it back. Let me know if other questions come up please.

Any idea how to add my spouse information on the 24-25 fafsa form? He does not have a ssn. We have tried putting all zeros but still the system doesn’t let us move forward. I need help to see how we can overcome this since the form is requesting his info since he is a contributor

Do you have a social security number? I was told that you only need one parent if you file taxes jointly.

@@annac2878 yes I am a citizen. My husband however does not have a ssn. Under my spouse info on the fafsa form it does not let me move forward with it. I’ve used all zeros on the ssn for my spouse and and the system doesn’t allow it. So not sure how to move forward.

Hello, My parents do not have SSN, but still pay taxes. Do i still list them under the all zero's for SSN and not put in their tax information?

Hello! You would put all 0’s and if they filed taxes, you would add their tax info. Please don’t forget to print the signature page and have one of your parents sign& mail to the address provided.
