Did you get this figured out? I am seeing the same issue with AlfaOBD using two different dongles - one is a cheap ELM327 and the other is Veepeak BLE+. In both cases it tries to connect to CAN bus and fails - same as your video at 6min:35sec. This is on a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500.
