I think without having an EGR system on your truck, you were running lean (more oxygen, less fuel) even if you didint have a big exhaust leak in front of the catalytic converter. Your CAT isnt 100 %, but isn't bad, other wise your HC and CO would be a lot higher. Toyota, especially Denso oxygen, Air fuel ratio sensors, are VERY finicky, and even rear regular O2 is used for fuel control. Nox on those Toyotas, non EGR systems, is usually controlled by the valve train and the AF(front "oxygen sensor"). Seems like you had bad carbon deposits on your valves and dirty AF, O2 sensors. You're lucky the additives helped and you didint have heavy deposits that needed a big fuel system intake cleaning or disassembly of heads and valve train. Just my thoughts brother.
Just bought the same emissions cleaner and Lucas fuel system cleaner for my dads 1999 Toyota solara. It failed emissions the first time for high Nox and I’m hopping this will make it pass.
Same just bought the crc emissions liquid and will start the treatment. I barely passed. My Nox reading on 487 max read at 700 which caused me to fail. They said it was because my car was sitting for a few months and wasn’t driven too long, makes sense because it was. When I got my car I didn't drive it long, I just did some repairs and took it in asap. So I will be doing this.
Mine has still failed even after I used this treament. I cleaned the EGR valve, changed O2 sensors and still failed due to high NOx. Good luck!@@ElGhostPresents
Do you know if there's anything else i can do to get the nox down lower if the crc dosent work i have a 22re engine and just failed the nox at 15mph im in nor cal the max is 356 and i measured 476 and failed
Yes. Remove your egr, clean it or replace it. Also make sure the metal line to your ear, clean it as well. When you test next time, make sure your engine is hot
@@theotherguy3083 oh ok because the box says pour bottle into a half tank and drive untill empty, then fill up full tank and drive untill empty again then fill up and go to smog place
