He could hide it until he can work out something with the bank...I did. Hid my car in the garage for about 4 months...repo guy kept driving by. I saw him looking in the window one night, so I boarded up the windows, jammed the garage door shut with metal bars, and padlocked the walk in door. Finally got my bills caught up, called the bank, told them I'd pay my back payments, and they said that would be fine. I paid them, and all was well. Paid it off a year later, and now it's all mine!!
Those were some dumb repo men. Wait at least five minutes before attempting a repo. Your lookout is to look out for the owner. If the owner comes out either ask nicely for the keys or leave otherwise this disturbing/breaching the peace. Never block a vehicle especially in a 3rd party lot. Never tow a vehicle with someone inside (illegal everywhere), especially during a repo because you will lose Forrest Gump. A stinger on 4WD truck? All damages during repo fall back on the repo men. Priceless.
If people watch the video closely at 9 seconds the owner comes into view and gets in the truck at about 14 seconds. Then the tow truck drivers wait about 6 seconds after that before even lifting the truck so it was not "hooked" when the owner entered the truck. A real tow/repo company has insurance so they should pay up and this video is proof of their screwup. This truck now has $2000 damage to the wheels and will fetch far less than that at auction as is. Watch Reponut to see how it is done.
So it's his fault that thy lifted the truck after he was in it? They knew what his intentions were. He couldve thought it was a carjacking, they saw him walking out to it and didn't try to make contact until he got off the jack.
Well, if the Sheriff or any other LEO came knocking, I'd have handed the keys over straightaway. No reason to give them a hard time. All I had was some hilljack driving by in his 92 F150 every night with the tow bar down.
I'm a fan of reponut as well and I was thinking that because the vehicle was up in the air before the driver tried to drive off that the driver would be liable in that instance. I'm a little unclear on whos at fault here so I'm just throwing it out there.
Last week in -10° temps, while waiting for the tow truck after had I spotted a repo, the guy came out to drive his Suburban away, so I pulled up behind him to block him and got out and told him it was getting repo'ed. He thought about it for half a minute and said "#@%& that" and threw it in reverse and smashed into my Jeeps plastic "bumper" which shattered in the extreme cold. Figuring he might try even more outrageous things I sprayed him with pepper spray to stop him from doing more damage or getting out to fight me. I called the cops and am now waiting for his insurance company to settle this and send me a check.
If he can't pay his bills, why does he have to take it out on someone else? He needs to turn it in and maybe pay cash for a cheap beater to get by until he gets the finances under control.
that's not a fail attempt he got the truck ounce he is hooked the tow truck driver is in possion of it it's been repo. you drive his lift that grand theft auto and now you got the state involved he will be arrested and charged
. NO ONE ! I repeat NO ONE comes into my home! Only exception is a police officer with a legal warrant. You have a right to protect your home from illegal home invasions. Use your imagination as to what I would have done_______________
