safety and emission certificates requirement bago makapagregister. safety certification expires after 60 days , done by certified mechanic/shop. there after yearly safety inspection is required when renewing registration.
Having vehicle inspection system is good but consistant managing n fine tuning thru feedback of consumers is important to. Every system needs to b followed up in terms of its effectiveness n practicality n customer service. Having an inspection center so far away from consumers n customers is totally inconvenience to consumers n customers. Hence a comprehensive network of service centers is critical in order to hv our vehicle population in tip top condition as required by law. If the authorities doesn't think of this n just open up center for vehicle inspection n didn't think of customer inconvenience n so on n so forth then the effort is a waste. Philippines is a big country n if u do want to hv tip top vehicle population in Gd condition n follow according to law then the authorities shd reconsider these inspection centers to b within their working n or residential areas in each province n so on... These LTO MVIS sucks this is my first time to see inspectors wearing dress shirt and pants with matching shoes... wow... I had been to Canada, the way they inspect the vehicles are random, annually and semi annually... For private vehicles Randomly they will flag your vehicle down if they see any defects on your vehicle while on the road. They also have for every two years your car has to undergo an emission test. Annually and semi-annually are for Commercial Vehicles. Example Most City Buses are all equipped with next stop announcement for the visually impaired, any 3 buses out of thirty that fails to announce the next stop are fined for $25k. Mechanics, supervisor and management of the buses are liable because they are the one who are responsible for the safety of every bus everyday... Ohh Mechanics and inspectors wear coveralls and steel toe shoes. Ohh police also will flag your vehicle down for being unsafe for the road. Well Happy Trails

Source of corruption lang yan. Manual inspection lang malalaman mo na bagsak or pasado ang sasakyan sa road worty. Unahin sana ng LTO na mawala ang red tape, corruption, fixers sa lahat ng opisina nyo.
Dapat 10 taon lang ang buhay ng sasakyan, mas lalo na ang sasakyan para pambumbliko, Pero dapat ayusin ng Department of Transportation ang proseso nato, sa masmabilis ma oras at panahon.

Sa Saudi, wiper lang ang sira, hindi ka na maka pasa sa MVPI. Pag bagsak sa MVPI, hindi mo ma renew ang registration. Pag expire ang registration, Hilahin nang pulis sasakyan mo papuntang junk shop.
