Welcome to Hartwick Performance!
This build was unintentional and very difficult, but the idea of having a Fairlane GT with all Mustang parts was too good not to try. We took two cars, each having their own set of issues, and made them one. Now it still has a long ways to go, but we accomplished this craziness all outside with the use of a sawzall (yes... sawzall) and crane. Talk about risky, but it was worth it!

I've done this many times. It's called fun! Good dirty fun. Yes, my neighbors were appalled many times at first, but as each project progressed, the neighbors got interested to see which way it would go. There is only one limit to doing this, your mind! I love what that car is turning into!

It's actually an industry all its own, there are reproduction 69 charger bodies that get put on crown vic chassis. First saw it at a Dukes of Hazzard show. Search crown vic Charger on YT

This build is very cool. Everyone is dropping 69 charger, 65 mustang bodies on newer chassis, but this is a little bit different and the Fairlane is also a sporty family car.

I like the mid-sixties fairlanes too. My first car at 17 was a 66 fairlane. Then got into 65 mustangs. Would love to have a 66 390 fairlane today.

Im with you on the flared fender idea. I’d try different offset wheels or slightly modified wheel arch that would be less noticeable.

This was how they built the cars for the newer dukes movies. But turned crown vics into general lees. So when they jumped them they werent destroying an already rare chassis.

Not a problem unless it's a 67 Mustang fastback with all the special panels used on the original movie car. If you do that and don't call it Eleanor you're still ok and safe from the copyright infringement lawsuits. You can name a Fairlane or any other car Eleanor. The copyright is only applies to exact replicas of that ugly Nickolas Cage car.

That is ambitious! Good to see it worked. I would have assumed the Mustang is way too wide to get the tires under the Fairlane but it's close enough you could get away without flares if you could get wheels with more offset. The power windows shouldn't be much of an issue if you have already tackled the stuff shown.

The window motor is an easy hack. If you get those aftermarket power window motor kits they just slip over the window cranks and then just wire into the mustang harness at the motor plug. After doing a 2 month redesign on my Charger body over project for the doors I just put kit motors on the rear windows and it was a quick and simple solution. Just had to make custom door cards to cover the motors. Nice job by the way.

So cool. This I like.... I'm old school. I like every all original. If it is restorable! But I'm all for taking something that other wise would be crushed and bringing life back to it. Awesome job brother!! By the way my dad ran a 66 galaxy back in the 70s. He ran size 60s on the front and 50s on the back. Fender wheels we're not a issue. He's said plenty of Clarence.
