Fairview riverside state park and Otis house in Madisonville, LA 

Fairview riverside state park, we absolutely loved it here, it was so peaceful and beautiful being camped right on the river.
I highly suggest checking this park out and staying in the smaller loop.
The restrooms were clean, The grounds were very well kept, Plenty of fishing and boating, There is a very nice hiking trail and the Otis house museum which is a must see.
There is free laundry facilities and the park is gated.
Most sites are just water and electric with the exception of the Handicap spots and host spots.
The towns around the park are very nice, we enjoyed Madisonville and Ponchatoula. Ponchatoula has several festivals throughout the year, we were able to catch the antique trade days.
There are several restaurants in the area and plenty of grocery stores.
