Fairy Tail August Dragneel's Death || August's Final Moments . August stands up and uses a suicide attack which would kill everyone, but cancels it because his mother Mavis was also there and dissolves.
The most tragic character in Fairy Tail, dying never knowing love, his parents never knowing of him. He is also one of the most powerful characters too....his power basically a blessing and a curse.
Frankly, it would have been more touching if he'd seen brandish was suffering cause if the spell and stopped since she sees him as a grandfather. Not to Mention mention on my Cana who didn't tell Gildarts because he was never around August was always near Zeref but never said anything so it's kind of hard to pity him.
@@WannabeWryter he couldn't tell him because of Zeref curse of contradiction. Zeref would have loved him and inadvertently kill him at a point, and if he didn't it would just mean he didn't love him. A no win situation. I love your point on Brandish though....in a way August didn't even realize he has experienced love, from Brandish and in turn he did love her like a grandfather....he was just too caught up with the drama of his parents to recognize, adding to his tragedy. As you said, a nicer ending would have been seeing Brandish being affected by his magic and he decides to sacrifice his life for her finally understanding what love is- sacrifice!
exactly that, Zeref, mavis and Irenes Story were really brutal, but the one story i can't get over is August, it really pissed me off, that neither Zeref nor Mavis somehow knew he was their son
Cylus O'Brady what’s especially interesting is that he’s the magic king and yet the one magic is love itself. He’s the king of the one thing he never had in his life, and even if his parents did love him he’d die due to the curse of contradiction
4:51 "i wish you could’ve held me in your arms" This moment... made me cried so hard... the tears suddenly started to flow... He deserved so much more... I’ll live the rest of my life thinking he reincarnated as well as Mavis and Zeref’s son once again and they love happy ever after...
@Nur-jehan Ampuan they did, but it was only on natsus’ memory / thoughts when he was fighting that ghost or something… and if i remember correctly, igneel said that was bec. it was natsus sort of like dream and wish that every one he met and cared for who perished were living happily in that sort of memory in natsus’s head….. sort of like, for him ( natsu ) he made happy ever after for those people he met in his own mind….
Hari Shyam It is pretty obvious you don’t get it lol. The point of that was to make anybody who didnt know August was Zeref’s son stay oblivious to that fact. Which is why he never specifically stated “Why Was I, the majesty’s child never loved” but instead says “Why was the majesty’s child never loved”. In most of these scenes where he does say that Larcade is shown making the watcher think Larcade is zerefs son and that he was never loved because we see zeref kill him and shun him. He even has the same hair of the kid(August as a child) that kept getting flashed back to in these scenes But that final “Why was the majesty’s child never loved loved” was meant to break through this ignorance and inform the watcher that zeref’s son isnt Larcade but instead August which is why it shows august now and as a kid in that specific scene.
After he said “the only one who could beat His Majesty’s child was his mother.” He immediately looked for Mavis and saw when he was hurting her he just couldn’t do it.
Looking back at this, the reason why he stopped and said "The only person who could defeat him was his own mother" was because he couldn't hurt his mother. Even though August was never loved or known by his parents, he still loved them and never wanted to hurt them, so when he saw he was hurting Mavis(his mom) he stopped because he didn't want to hurt someone he loved.
When zeref was fighting natsu and than larcade cam and interfered and his love for his brother is more than the power of the love for his son so even if august told him he would not love him he would get the same treatment as larcade
Javion Tutt he wouldn’t Because like it wasn’t originally zerefs son .He is a synthetic son of zeref and was also a demon Whereas august is the real deal
The saddest thing about August's death is that neither Zeref nor Mavis knew they had a child together till the very end and that he died without them knowing who he really is
The curse of contradiction... if they knew, they would've loved him. And he wouldve died. August. He knew that I think. It would make sense why he never told Zeref.
@@pizzapie5356 3 months late but just wanna say no, it's not necrophilia. Mavis actually created a projection of a son which they both might have. Zeref unknowing while meeting Mavis cast his Living Magic upon her mind and projection causing August to be born.
August's character was the most tragic. Poor guy just wanted his parents to love him. Zeref and Mavis never realized this till the end; what they had truly lost amidst all else. :'(
@@iwillnot._2807 not to shame people but that shi- is fucked up since its technically necrophilia, i rather think they just didnt show the scene in the lake first but did afterwards
@@abhinandanbiswal4301 no, he was totally evil, he would burn the world if his father asked him to, but as much of a monster as he is... he could never kill his own mother
@@theyenvylamar what proof do you have that he didn't? Murder war and rape don't seem to think he's still here. Plague famine and earthquakes don't seem to give a fuck either. But that's just an old argument to make. What evidence can you provide other than the mad ravings of idiots and zealots mistaking the best known work of fiction as fact?
I have a heavy feelings for this scene. I want to not like august because he is an enemy but his story, not having any love from his parents especially his mother doesn't know he exist is the worst feeling that a child could ever experienced
If Irene had the worst death, this was even worse. But this was still a sad way to die for August, cuz he was never loved by Mavis and Zeref. R.I.P Wizard King...
Let's be honest what death is not terrible in last season ? August: while it's sad that he was never loved in life and died unloved it was utterly August: I'm powerful enough to wipe out this entire kingdom "starts chastising forbidden spell, a little bit later sees his mom" is that my mom? drops the spell and turns to ash. While watching Irene's death I first time seeing it my reaction was "the fuck just happened" .Acnalogia is killed by friendship (don't start about how his body was trapped or how he got sick first of all even before the end his body "dragon form" got trapped. second in Alvarez arch we learned that by becoming dragon that problem is removed)
Before Irene died, she somewhat met and made peace with her daughter. She indirectly taught Wendy all about high-level enchantments. August never left anything. All people will remember him as nobody who was raised by Zeref and later repeated him by building Alvarez.
His last words had me embarrassed and in tears. Please treasure your parents and your children. Don't stop loving them, because one day, you won't be able to anymore.
@@achilles4510 no he isn't he's just immortal and had the greatest expertise in black magic... he might have been very strong when he formed his empire but at this point in the story. He's basically on par with the 12.
@@MagicSecretsandMysteries nah some members of the 12 are way weaker then zeref.. and ofc some members are stronger which includes August.. i mean duh hes HIS son
it’s so sad that he didn’t even get a conversation with her before he died, and that he didn’t get that hug that he always wanted and now he never will. Mavis never even figured out he was her son. Even worse, zeref didn’t even know he had a son.
Ya'll realize that this is how Naruto would have turned out if he let his loneliness devour him like August. To be fair, Naruto had people around him but August never did. It was cruel that Mavis didn't at least know of him before he died, I think that would have been enough for him.
noneofyourwaksbiz this is how cans would had turned it Lucy did not help her tell guildarts the truth, she would had ended up dying a death lonely. The final arc closes all of the characters arcs.
Mavis never even know she was pregnant with him. And comparing him to Naruto is not really a good comparison. I know Naruto also went through a lot btw. But at the very least Naruto can proudly said that his parents died for him and knows him.
He gets angry and tried to kill everyone in order to fulfil his father wish but the moment he saw his mother suffering due to his anger his anger melted away it was a true love for his mother that made him cancelled the spell 😥😥 I petty him 😟
@@ultimatedragon8013 i don't think so, because fairy tail doesn't want to only play with characters and their powers but wants to play with your emotions and this scene really did for me, like the makarov one(but he didn't die because of plot armor dammit Mashima)
August, the unloved Child. The Most Tragic character in Fairy Tail without a doubt. One of the strongest magiation if not the strongest. And getting this video suggested during August is perfection. The Curse to Bless.. August
Not really unloved. More like unknown Child. Mavis or Zeref could likely have loved him if they know the truth. But if they know the curse would kill him which mean he would cause an extreme pain to either side.
All he wanted was to be held by his mother once and loves by his dad as well only for him to disappear the second he met his mum and dies without his parents knowing he existed this is too cruel
Hurts my heart where he constantly look at his mother Mavis. Observing every detail of her beauty. Having flashbacks of his father quoted having the same remarkable beauty as hers. As he wanted to take note of every detail how admirable his mother truly was, till the last piece of ash of his eye closes and dreams of being held by the fragile arms of his mother to feel that tender love which was never expressed to begin with.
bro too much detail man u should be a writer but other then that ur making his death even worse ngl, its sad enough already bro and ur adding salt on it
@@JohnAlbertDiPasquale he didnt chose anything tho, he was lead down that path in the first place cuz of his enviroment and he was also confused besides even if he revealed himself to mavis and zeref they would have killed more people cuz of their curse
@@greatmusic142 No literally he had a choice, even though He had that experience. He could've pulled a "what if...", where rather him following his Father which led to sort of a path to magical dictatorship but in his own terms adventure and making friendship power like his Uncle "Natsu" heheheheh
I remember when the manga chapter came out and right after reading it i locked eyes with my brother. He knew full well what I just read and he said, "right?". Fairy Tail does know how to play with our emotions.
Think about it. There was nothing ANY character in the series could do. August cast a spell that would have killed the entire cast of the show right then and there, and the only reason they lived is because he willingly stopped his cast upon seeing his mother. He *ALLOWED* Fairy Tail to live beyond this day.
Out of all of the characters who died in the final story, his was the saddest to me. All he ever wanted was to hear his mother and/or father say they loved him. He stopped because he couldn't bring himself to kill his own mother...and no one will ever know why.
He so pure he did not tell Zeref he is his son, he loved zeref unconditionally until he aged. He never hated his mother Mavis, and he love his mother unconditionally just by the memories of her. He stopped his purpose of kill everybody just by looking at his mother with love and surrender his life to love.
Gave me goosebumps. You could the the emotions trapped in August's eyes when he saw Mavis. The longingness trapped within those eyes. By far the most tragic death in the series.
That cut deep. The king of magic. Most powerful mage of his age. And dying with "once will be enough, to held in your hands" words. Trully no money, or power, or whatever else can replace love.
im not over this. nope! like fairy tail can hit me with anotha of their sad shit and happy episodes but they’re not getting me past the fact mavis and zeref never found out august was their son. NOPE! NEVER!
chia the only person knew about the fact that August is son of Mavis and Zeref: Hades. But as we know, he died in the earlier arc thus making absolutely no one knows about that fact, even Mavis and Zeref.
I miss this scene. I remembered the time I was watching this months ago, I'm actually crying. And August's misery of not being acknowledged and loved by his parents saddened me for almost a month
Most tragic character to me at least, I cried so much, none of the other deaths got me like this one, mostly because no other character felt this much loneliness their entire life from the moment they are born to the day they die, and I believe August had a good heart.
Honestly, I was very disappointed that so few people died during the final war. I got even sicker when characters like Makatov, Juvia and Gadjeel came back to life after their fake death that had so much meaning. In the end Fairy Tail wizards are all alive and it looks like nothing has changed. However, I must admit that Irene and August's deaths are meaningful. Both strongest wizards of their Empire commit suicide, which shows that power isn't everything you need. Both lacked love, had traumas and needed relationships they could never have. Besides, August saying that there are no good nor evil, except from love is something we've been waiting a long time from Fairy Tail antagonists. Usually they're corrupted by darkness or selfish persons. Here we have someone who dares question his own existence and goals, true to himself until he finds what he was looking for.
Finally got the chance to watch fairy tail and came across this episode...Went and look for this in youtube so i can express myself because of the heartbreak it gave me.. It's just soooo saaaad. Is there no justice for august? No closure? I cant seem to get past this episode.. Already watching the rest but cant shake off this sadness... Really...
A truly powerful opponent but only stopped to not harm his mother that never seen him, never got love from anyone and wanted revenge and was close to doing so. But one look at his mother he stopped and died in the process. Killing your own mother would be unable to bear with and he chose to not do it. Truly a good boy to not kill or harm his own mother.
When you realize that the only reason August stopped his spell was because he couldn't bring himself to kill his mother. Once he realized the spell was hurting her, he stopped it, but it killed him before he got the chance to actually talk to her. That moment made me cry.
I think it's more sad that even if mavis and zeref knew they had a son they still can't give the love to their son because they will knew that their son will die if they will give love to him, this is because of the curse of his parents....
GrowThug LOL that is why the emperor never once he had a child, because august knew what would happen if he told, the only way to stay close to his father is by not telling him, this what would had happened to Cana if Lucy did not push her towards telling guindarte the truth. And to make more sadder and with more consequences a lot of the stuff Could have been avoided if august told zeref he was his son.
For some reason August story made me unconsciously silently cry of sadness when he looked at a sealed body of Jack's as a baby later on being abandoned without telling his true identity to his father. (Not sure if it's pity or sympathy) i would like to see a version of August in a what if scenario that did not died but manage to survive to tell his tale to his parents someday.
i remember exactly that i had to pause Fairy Tail after watching this episode, i don't know why but August' death made me feel really uncomfortable with the whole situation going, just dying not knowing the embrace of his mother and in return his parents not knowing of him, just damn sad man
i actually wanted someone to punch mavis in the face when she said " it's all thanks to guildarts ! " happily i know it's unreasonable because she didn't know anything , but damn it was sad ! i feel for the old guy !
I think August already know about Mavis as his real mother, that's why he stopped the spell he casted when he saw her. I wish he'd come back to the next season of fairytail. 😞
@@azrulrohiza395 making it more sad since, Larcade died as his majesty’s son but August as no one. Maybe in the 12 Springgan, he is known as the Strongest Wizard and in the eyes of the MC’s is the Strongest Enemy but he never wanted to be known as that. He just wanted to be known as Mavis and Zeref’s Child.
*Most tragic character but do yall understand if zeref and mavis know august, He will die because of the curse. 2nd Master hide him so august could live he never told to anyone so he could save him. Its more tragic to be killed by your own flesh but you coudnt anything. i hope so theres side story of this family.*
i think he could saved everyone had he told zeref that he was his son rather than hiding , maybe zeref would have also not gone mad because he would have had something to live for , because death of natsu and than mavis had almost driven him mad and he wanted to create a world where he would not know them and in turn be spared from the pain of their loss
@@Private.R doesn't make sense , he was around zeref all along he did not die and had zeref known that he had something to live for he wouldn't have had the insane idea of recreating the past
@@sunilsurginath it completely makes sense. When he was around zeref, zeref didn't care about him. And as you said, if he would have told about him being zeref's son.... then zeref would have loved him and then the curse will come in play. If he tell he dies, if not..... then we know what happened.
This means DONT simply judge others. and dont simply hurting others. for that its an incredibly destucive forces. man i love the muae asia bring this once again.😭
So one of the most powerful wizards of Magnolia made his own Ars Magia attack his body because he saw his mother. Somehow I feel this was just a cheap way for the writer to get rid of an overpowered obstacle.
I thought that same thing the first Time i saw it but even if still is a strange end for the most powerful mage it really delivers the message that August loved his parents and wanted to know them and protect them from pain, like he did when he saw his mother suffering from his spell
