You can really tell how much his voice has changed and got better. I really love this song and how he sings it it’s just perfect, plus the violin its just fantastic and in the original some of the strings breaks and he still continues without fault😌
I totaly agreed with his win, he is fantastic an charismatic and plays very good violin. Alexander is a Belarusian-Norwegian singer-composer, violinist, pianist and actor. About his own musical style, Rybak has said: "Generally, I do everything from writing folklore, children’s music, DreamWorks songs to arranging for symphony orchestra and making cover versions of Eurovision songs.(...) I do not make more albums, I like to publish one and a song on RU-vid. It can be a classic piece, a pop song, a collaboration with Philip Cecil or just a cover song, but I will always have something visual to my songs, and maybe a music video.
This is a much newer performance at a tv show in Norway. This is recorded at Fredriksten Fortress in Halden, Norway. I take trips there all the time with my 8 year old daughter. She loves that huge old fortress with all the cannons and dungeons etc :) . The original performance from Eurovision is much better.
@ Highly Combustible Reacts this video is from an entertainment program that translates to singing at the border (you may have seen that it was a fairly wide corridor in the middle of the audience and one side is Norway and the other Sweden and they have artists from both countries but this was before borders were closed) also thought bed that Arch Enemy has released a new song a few weeks ago and in addition to that I saw your video on the Norwegian prison and think you should check one that M. Moore made about them with and you also visit him a lighter "prison "which is an island if you think Halden was free then watch that video
Don't know where that election for best song in Eurovision was held, but my guess would be Norway 😉. I am very interested in Eurovision, follow some YTchannels, reactors, active in some groups and though Fairytale is considered top 10 it certainly isn't considered best ever. That title for Modern day Eurovision (2000 to present) would go to Euphoria by Loreen. If we take into account the classic Eurovision (1956-2000) most would elect Waterloo by ABBA. Anyway, this isn't even his best performance of the song. I think you do need to watch his performance in the 2009 Eurovision to see what true magic he can conjure up.
Yeah in the description of the original video you can clearly see that this was a Norwegian election, so the best eurovision song according to Norwegians, surprise, surprise it's fairytale! LOL
This song had the most points in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest, but that says more about the quality of that year's fellow candidates! 🤷🏻♂️ But still a nice song! 👍🏻
Go check out Eurovision Top 20 Most Watched, which is published every month. Alexander Rybak is up there in the top every month, 15 years after he won - except from a month or two when the Grand Finale is in May every year. He certainly delivered the most iconic Eurovision song and performance.
Silly question! This was requested by Ann-Lisbeth..and it's fun to see him perform the song somewhere else!!! Great choice Ann-Lisbeth! Suzette #TeamHighly
as always I said in another reactions ABBA gives to Sweden their first victory in almost 20 years "Waterloo" is a disruptive song in your time, a fantastic Masterpiece under three minutes and ABBA perfomance was iconic, these is the Most Important act in the 70s decade (not only in Eurovisión) and still now is the Best in all Eurovisión history (voted in 2005, to the 50th anniversary of Eurovisión) and in September 2021, after 47 years of these victory, and after 39 years of the last song recorded, ABBA comes back again with two amazing new songs, and a full album "Voyage" in last November 2021 that is a worldwide success Now ABBA is in another level of the rest, is in the Podium of the Greatest Groups in músic history, as the same level as BEATLES... and even someone more
@@mauijttewaal depends who you talk to. Most recent Eurovision fans have seen from say 2000 on and for them it's Loreen with Euphoria. If you go for classic Eurovision (1956-1999) yes than it would be Waterloo by ABBA. Though personally I find Eimar Quinns The Voice more appealing, but well so many people, so many different tastes.
Great song, but the best of Eurovision ever? I don’t think so. There are some nice videos showing all the winners in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest. The ESC started in 1956.
It’s a nice song, don’t think it was of the best songs ever, maybe for the people from Norway.Think Abba and Duncan Laurens are better songs. Sorry that you startled at the end ❤️✌️
