The actualy meaning of the short movie these clips are from is a litte(a lot) different. I will try to explain it, but better search and watch it by yourself: The main character's village gets constantly attacked and people killed, so one time he just can't take it anymore and starts praying and crying to God: "Why would you do this to me", "Why is my cross so heavy" etc. Then an angel appears and takes im to a cave where there's a lot of crosses so he can "pick a lighter cross", he starts searching and first stumbles upon a sword, a knaz's sword(Knaz => King). It appers to be really light, so he picks it up and gets a vision of couple battles, in the last battle his army looses and he gets "crusified" (as a mockery) with spears(he then thorws the sword on the floor in fear). Then he finds another cross he things is "so light", then he gets another vision of him as a monk in a cave praying surrounded by demons, that constantly temp him. Then again, he trows the cross on the ground, and runs in fear. Then he finds a petite wooded handmade(with sticks and rope) cross, he takes it and says "it'll be my cross". Then the movie cuts to the scene of him and his wife standing watching his children play near a river(it's winter, and the river has large pieces of ice floating around), one of his children accidentally falls on one of these ice blocks, he almost drowns, the man saves him almost dying(other people captured him with sticks near the bridge). Then the same angel from before appears and tells him, that the cross he chose while in a cave was indeed his initial cross. The moral (from my perspective) is that we shouldn't look at people with envy, we never know someones real burden.
