I wanted to share this story for everyone: my first year in college I was leaving the library and when I was walking to the parking lot someone started calling after me. This guy told me that his fraternity was having a concert called “follow the love” and gave me a flyer that described that the concert was for people on campus to go praise Jesus. It was late and we were the only two out there and after he gave me the flyer I drove home. I decided to go because I was curious. When I got there I felt uncomfortable because I’d never done anything like it. The band traveled to different colleges and universities so they had no clue who I was. They had never even been to my city or college. The main guitarists girlfriend came and introduced herself to me and asked me if I was uncomfortable because I’d never done anything like this. I assumed she could just tell by how I was standing and watching. She asked me if she could connect with me and pray with me and of course I said sure. This girl told me everything I was feeling - things other people didn’t know - and I mean SPECIFIC things. Nobody at my college even knew my father had died when I was 13 but she told me that God and Jesus knew I was suffering from it - but that I wasn’t alone. I was so baffled because first of all, I’ve never felt understood, second of all I knew this had to mean something big. I became a Christian then and there. I never saw that guy again, or the girl. I searched their names in google as well as the colleges database and I could not find their names. It is as if they don’t exist. All I know though is that I have never felt more understood and I’m eternally grateful for that.

I pray that you continue to grow and blossom in your faith and relationship with God. He is so good and works in magnificent ways. Right now I feel that He has sent me to let you know that He has great and marvelous plans for you in your life. I got baptised at 14 and it was the best experience of my life and now I’m 16 and I’ve struggled a lot with standing strong in my faith especially being in high school but you are such an inspiration with how much you love God. Thank you Rachel, you are truely a blessing

I found this video extremely helpful & enlightening. I have always been interested in Catholicism and exploring faith and since embarking on my university studies of education I have had the opportunity to explore religion, religion curriculum, how to the read and interpret the bible etc. I would recommend: The Catholic Study Bible for anyone who wishes to read the bible and have a guide alongside to assist in understanding and interpreting all texts! It has been incredibly helpful with my understanding and studies! The Bible Project RU-vid videos are amazing as well! They have definitely helped me through plenty of assessment tasks! 😊

I remeber losing my faith it felt like losing a loved one, my life was so mundane after that i got depressed felt so empty and worthless, but jesus never stopped loving me, he brought me back to the path of rightousness and the love and fuliment and purpose in life just came back stronger then before. going through that trial just made me cry out for those who dont know jesus.

I also grew up in a Christian home. I often say that I’m a generational Christian, meaning that I am a product of generations of people who love the Lord. And I definitely agree, there comes a point where you have to decide that it’s not just your parents’ faith anymore, that it must become yours. Like Ruth when she decided that Naomi’s God isn’t just Naomi’s God anymore, that Naomi’s God is also her God.

I would recommend reading the New Testament and the Old Testament at the same time. I try to go through the bible in a year (I’ve been a Christian for a while, don’t do that if you’re just starting!), but I read one chapter from the Old Testament and one from the new every day (I try to) and I think this is really helpful in understanding who Jesus is, but who God is! It takes a while, I’m only just understanding who God is and I’ve been a Christian since I was young. But this is just how I do it. I’ve also read 5 love languages and I loved it! Thought it was really useful and helped me learn more about how to love my boyfriend in a way that is best for him !! I also love How to Pray - Pete Greig, a really useful book covering lots of areas of prayer life and understanding how to pray for different things, my mum also read it (I got baptised 3 years ago and she’s been a Christian for 30+) and she also found it really useful. It’s really accessible and easy to read xx

I am an atheist and I used to go to Christian youth group as the people were so open and accepting of my beliefs and all-around great people. And I used to have a lot of fun there as it wasn't all bible talk but mostly activities and games. While the group strengthened my beliefs as an atheist I gained a level of respect towards Christians that I used to view as non-tolerant.

Ariel hey Ariel!! I’m not Rachel but have been a strong Christian my whole life and thought I could answer! If you’ve prayed, God has heard you. If you’ve even spoken a word or had a thought, God has heard you. Not to say that in a freaky way, but to show you that God created you and loves you more than anything, so He listens and is interested in what you have to say or think. However, a lot of people struggle to believe that because they think God is angry with them or they don’t hear God back. That is not the case at all. He is not angry with you and Him not responding never means that. God has perfect timing- He will never not respond ‘just because’. It could simply be because He wants you to keep searching for Him, or He has already spoken, you just need to listen (that happens to me still!). God never ignores you. But His response is all in Him timing and He will never leave someone searching.... He will answer. Just keep praying, keep being thankful for the things you’ve seen Him done in your life (if you’ve never been a Christian, just look at the blessings in your life and see that it was all from God). Just keep pursuing Him and He will speak to you. Sometimes God takes a long time to speak but that’s okay because it’ll only be an awesome part of your testimony eventually. Just know that He will and you just have to keep going. I’ve never seen anyone who never heard from God when they asked x hope that helped at all.

I identify as a Christian although I don’t really have a relationship with god. I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way at all but the one thing that deters me from actually creating a good relationship is the fact I find the faith to be a bit misogynistic at times. Just wondering about your thoughts and perspective on this x

I've had this problem as well. It helps me to remember, in regards to the Bible, that even though it is God's word it was written by humans who lived in societies that had those beliefs, so it doesn't necessarily reflect God's beliefs

Random question I have: have you ever physically felt god or physically heard him talk to you (hope you know what I mean) I’ve heard that happens to people and I never hear him I feel like im missing out

Claire Southwell hey! For me personally I don’t always hear God give me distinct directions and stuff “like go to X uni and study Y” but I sometimes feel peace about some things and I take that to mean that God is directing me into that. Sometimes when I pray for people I get thoughts and images that weren’t there when I started praying and I’ll share them, but so long as it matches up with what the Bible says and it is encouraging and loving I assume it’s usually God. Not everyone hears God in the same way so don’t worry if you don’t hear an audible voice (for example) ❤️❤️

The NIV version is a pretty simple and understandable translation, it's the one I use

A few months ago, I got to a point in my faith where I was so close to losing it, and that scared me so much, because I don't know what I would do without God. When I realised how close I was to losing it, I decided that I would read my bible everyday. I started small (a couple of verses a day), and am slowly increasing it. One thing I do to make sure I read everyday is that I do it as soon as I get into bed at night. I make it non negotiable, and on the days that I "don't feel like it", I take it to mean that I really need it that day. I hope that makes sense.
