FAKE 57 Chevy Bel Air Convertible!

Back when that was built. That trim was probably much easier to find, and a lot cheaper than it is today. I wouldn't be surprised if someone out there has a bunch of stuff like that squirreled away somewhere. My buddy's dad used to be crazy into old 40's through 60's Oldsmobiles. He passed away in the 90's. He didn't have a will,so everything had to go through probate. Took my friend and his family nearly 30 years to sell it. It was stored in an old semi trailer, under the house, in a shipping container, in the attic. There was an unbelievable amount of stuff.

A fiberglass version would still be cool.

If you pick up this car, it will fold in on itself. The dash is missing. This was a critical crossmember to hold the car together back in this period.

If this is fake, the give away may be found by looking at the windshield metal surrounds. ( took a 2dr. hardtop and cut it off and fudged the windshield supports. ) throw a few pieces of non- discript on top of a missing package tray and another door, and the seller has a sucker buyer.

I really wish companies could remake the classic cars with current technology. Using aluminum instead of sheet metal like the old days. No cheap plastic parts for trim pieces anywhere and just go all out.

I remember back in the 80s ,fiberglass 57s being grafted to the 80s model chevy frames ...leaving more 57 chevys on the road than came from the factory

The only place I know that uses classical car replica myself is Beth Burger in Florida and then there’s one more state with another thing that used to do it back in the day this burger actually still does it but it’s not a convertible

I like the "dwarf cars." There's a man on jewlube who builds scaled down road worthy old "metal" miniature cars. He uses refrigerator metal for the body parts. Toyota truck chassis & running gear to get er done, effortlessly. Another feller made an early 70s Nova body with tube chassis/roll cage & put motorcycle drive train under the, bonnet. Im short, with an old beater running/driving 4 cylinder, vehicle, you could make anything you desire with some old broke busted & disgusted refrigerators that laid down on somebody, anybody. Another project i seen on jewlube was where some feller build a little, car, & installed a Harley Davidson engine out front. The baddest of badd azz mini project(s) ive, seen, was the "Smart car with the Hayabusa engine."

It is such a shame that Ford re did a thunder bird and Dodge had a go at the challenger and charger etc. and Chevy put out ok the Camaro but sat on there hands about doing some kind of limited run 55-56-57 Belair cars -they could have and they would have been a gold mine!!- So a couple years back they made that albatross two door over priced pick up thing whatever the f it was did anyone in America actually like that thing 🤓sup
