Fake Airpods Pro 2nd gen Comparison to Real. Apple Can't Even Detect These Fakes 

There is nothing wrong buying fakes but reselling them to ppl making them believe their the real deal is just wrong

The best way to spot a fake is to Google image search the serial number - if there are other listings from other locations with the same serial you know you’re dealing with a fake. Also a bit of a red flag if they have been bought and not opened once. Who really does that unless they are flipping for a profit. If it’s a “gift” you’d just ask the buyer to return it rather than sell for a huge loss. Obviously the price is a bit of a giveaway too.

Can you kindly tell regarding find my AirPods Pro gen 2 , can we only check on the AirPods left and right . Or can we even check with the case as well whether connected or not I just bought a pair from costco I’m not able to find it when AirPods are inside the case Please do reply Thanks I’m advance

I just realised now that I had bought some fake ones.. I just as you thought it was a software issue since it keeps peeping and couldn’t simultaneously shift between iPad and iPhone as my 1. Gen can.. That annoys me a lot so I looked up for that specific issue and felt over your video… almost everything was as you described.. the only difference is that my case for the fake pods on the backside is actually a pic of a closed case.. So the scammers has updated the packaging.. unfortunately… Freaking annoying !

Got one in China. Amazingly every details were addressed. Only thing it threw off were the spare ear tips which were completely useless.

Do they have hardware built in lid, you can see under light. I am just wondering if they went that far to build some hardware in lid like apple

Same thing to me too. I bought paid cash brand new in box , tested everything looks good just that the version firmware out of date. Even apple support on the phone believe its real. Until i sent to apple to get it the firmware update , they said they cannot do it and sending me back my AirPods, so sad 😞. Whats the next step i should do? Used this video today to help me discover I got fake ones! One thing I was hoping you would talk about was the plastic case part the AirPods are placed in the packaging. But literally this scares me how close they are. The big difference for me was when calling someone the mic was super fuzzy.

Just something additional to check to compare, and that´s what helped me to identify a fake ones today before buying them, and happens exactly the same in yours: In the french translation, it says ‘les appareils ios, iPados,…’. The OS for iOS and iPadOS should always be in capital letters, but it´s not the case for the fakes in the vid!! Hope it helps someone too :) most of the time fakes come with some small mispelling.

I got scammed through Offer Up too. It wasn’t until I went to my Apple Store behind my neighborhood to troubleshoot them was I informed they were fake. The AirPods I bought were also REALLY good fakes. They almost fooled the Genius Bar representative. The more she was trouble shooting, the more she found inconsistencies. It was a big learning experience even though I lost $55. I reported the seller to Offer Up and sadly they are still selling to this day.

Also the serial numbers would be different on each ear bud and the case for the real

One big giveaway is that the text on the back of the case is the same distance from the bottom of the hinge is exactly the same as the bottom part of the hinge is from top to bottom. One of the fakes had it too far down.

The stem volume control doesn’t work on the fakes. I know because I bought a pair off eBay. Someone said the serial number on the real ones is different on each Pod.

A bit late to this party. Just been through this process. Other things I’ve seen reported by others is the serial numbers on the case and AirPods should be all different but on the fakes they are they all have the same serial number. In the packaging, the tray that holds the case is cheap plastic in the fakes, but a better quality plasticised cardboard in the real ones. Because the packaging is a little cheaper, the AirPods in the package weigh less in the fake ones than in the real ones. In the end I just decided to buy $20 laser brand ear pods. No noise cancellation, but a MagSafe charging case.

Just happened to me. I spent a week trying to update the firmware. Then found out find my wouldn't work when closed.

I have a set of genuine APP 2, which I bought direct from Apple. The box says they were assembled in China. So presumably, Apple use Chinese and Vietnamese factories. My APP box also has the open charging case on the back. Perhaps the picture is used to indicate the country of manufacture: Open - China, Closed - Vietnam?

I sold a pair of my lightly used AirPods Pro Max on Facebook marketplace the other day. I was dreading listing them there for MONTHS because there are HUNDREDS OF fakes, and the overwhelming majority of them are ALL fake. So many rats on marketplace man, it's depressing. Had to mention multiple times in the listing and show receipt so people could understand why my asking price isn't ridiculously low because I paid MSRP for a real product lol

Another way to tell if they’re real is if they appear on find my, knock offs can replicate a lot of stuff but find my isn’t one of them

Is the cradle/holder in the apple box paper or hard plastic? Plastics are supposedly fake. Also, real ones the noise cancelling can't be turned off/on while airpods are flat on desk (have to be upright). fakes can be.

I just bought a pair of the fake ones and the biggest way you can tell even though Apple can’t detect it is try to use voice to text. It won’t work at all.

Fake always says made in China. Real one says Assembled not made.

I bought some off eBay and they were fakes. Returning them and just order legit from store. The fake ones had box sealed but when I removed the seal it didn’t rip evenly like apple. The box has some differences but they have it really close. Then next indication is the wrapper around the AirPods. Fakes have a cheap thin cover, where apple has a thicker wrapper. Software is also a big one. You can’t switch from iPhone to iPad without re syncing to Bluetooth. It’s also missing a lot of features in the settings menu. This all happened today lol

You forgot to mention the fake one got plastic white case you touch in the last minute on your video and for the real airpods had cardboard white case, its an easy guess.

Are the fake ones resettable?

Just got some from online store. I noticed straight away the connection chime sounded lower quality. They were exact copies, good sound but bad cancellation and they wouldn’t auto pair with iPad or Mac and won’t update firmware. Also find my won’t do the local search as no ultra wideband Very clever but bought after i was told they were boxed original UPDATE: done some research as its getting so bad. If unopened and boxed, the pull tabs should not be simple papers, should not be perforated and tear off clean and easy. The photo on the rear of box should show a closed set on most, but this could be regional. Look at the tabs holding the charge cable. They should have a little pull tab, fakes are just wrapped in paper. The ear buds/tips holder edge should be embossed. They should also fit snug in the bottom of the box. The Airpods case holder should be paper not plastic. Volume slide is more of a click at the bottom of the stem. Not smooth glide. The chime when you put in the ear can sound scratchy and low res. Findmy does not do a local search where it guides you to it as no UWB chip and firmware will be a few updates older. This cannot be updated to latest.

i think i actually got fakes. I cant get it to update for 24 hours or get it to find nearby on find my iphone. These even show the correct serial and everything and even the coverage goes to the apple app. For everyone who buys from private people i recommend them to send pictures of box and label since the serial number doesnt tell you if its fake or not.

They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

I have genuine apple AirPods Pro 2, I know they are genuine as they have been back to apple to have the left one replaced as it wasn’t charging (and since the case replaced as it didn’t solve the problem), now they charge flawlessly. But they were Authenticated in an Apple Store Milton Keynes UK under Apple care. So why am I writing this….. Well because my box states “Designed by Apple in California, Assembled in China”. So clearly apple must have a factory in China, so that on the box doesn’t prove anything.

Having tried both real and fake airpods, I must say the fakes nowadays are literally 1:1 you can't tell the difference in sound quality, however this just proves apple is a waste of money samsung buds are better

Dead giveaway on both fakes is that iOS and iPadOS are not capitalized correctly on the side of the box that has the serial numbers. No way is Apple messing up on their own name brands.

I too got screwed by scammers on Offer Up. I bought a pair on there not realizing that fakes were a thing. I’m a fully disabled combat veteran on a fixed income so I was just trying to find a cheaper way to get a pair. I immediately realized something was wrong when it said something about them not being recognized as authentic, the battery life was pretty bad and a few days later I ended up driving an hr and a half to the Apple Store in Raleigh to find out from the “woman” that works there that they were fake and that the serial number was legit but had just been copied and put on the fakes and she showed me where it had been linked to a ton of other products under the same number. It’s truly DISGUSTING how much effort these scumbags put into making fake products. I ended up a couple months later biting the bullet and buying a real pair from Target. I won’t ever buy another Apple product unless it’s from a reputable retailer, because instead of spending the $265 on a pair (taxes in NC SUCK) I ended up spending $100 on the fakes plus $50 in gas driving to find out they were fakes and still ended up having to pay the $265….so it ended up being over $400!! Thanks for the video and I do hope it saves someone else from making the same mistake.
