I used your video to test my OFG so thank you!! It has the matte atomizer, don’t have a scale but it also has the metal ring around the cap etc etc and the FANTASTIC smell which I remember when I tested it. So thank you for your video- helped me a lot since I am just finding out how crafty they are.
Great video as usual, I would suggest you to always put the authentic bottle on the scale as well! Before spraying it. This will help a lot especially with opaque bottles! And of course to do with all authentic bottles will be great ! 👍
@@tattoofun2003 It will be very helpful especially in swaps and buying used bottles which we do a lot, It’s hard to find something like this online, I actually started my own chart weighing each new bottle I get out of the seal.

Nice Videos. I have 3 questions if you can answer either here or in a new video. (1) What would account for the difference in weights between the real and fake? (2) A lot of people say that it's not cost effective for people to sell these fakes because of how much it costs to order casts of the bottles, etc. How would you respond to that? (3) Related to (2), what percentage of retail price do you typical see the "better" fakes being sold for? Like priced at 75% of original retail? So for example, if I made 10,000 fake Initios and sold them wholesale to the grey market at $150 ea and they sold to the consumer for $250 each, I would still be making a $1.5 mil revenue, which would be more than worth spending a few thousand dollars to have someone in China create a cast for the bottles, and then whatever I pay afterwards per finished bottle. So this would show that (2) would really be true. Just wondering your thoughts since you have to much experience and this is a big topic in the online community. I get suspicious of ones that I buy from grey markets. It's hard to prove but there does seem like they are less pungent or potent. For example, I started to find that I was much less satisfied in my colognes when I started buying a lot on the grey market, then when I bought them from regular stores. But it is not something I can clearly point out. A lot of popular reviewers try to downplay the likelihood that fragrances bought be online retailers are fake because, for example, they would have to order bottles in such large quantities to make it cost efficient, that it is unlikely they are being make on the type of scale that fakes would be made. However, you obviously prove otherwise. I watch your videos casually but not religiously, so sorry if you have already answered these questions before.
1. If you watch the video, you can see that the fake only has a cartboard box, no velvet pedestal, also the bottle is thinner on the fake, and the cap does not have the strong material ring around it's neck. So it is clear where the weight loss comes from. 2. Selling fakes is very much cost effective. Using cheaper materials to mimic the authentic aesthetics is one aspect. The other aspect is that the fake manufacturers don't pay for any authorisations of cosmetics manufacturing or/and any costs derived from testing with authorisers (Healthcare mainly) that the products can be used for humans. Also, the fake manufacturers don't pay any income taxes. Those above are main aspects, there are others as well. So selling fakes is very much cost effective. They are produced in large quantities. 3. Better fakes are sold as high as the authentics. One thing about the price of the fakes is the fact that the shipping is also usually included in the final selling price. The longer the distance from the fake manufacturer to the final sell location would mean a higher price. This is not a mandatory rule but usually it follows this principle.

But you could say where you get your real ones. Just from legit retail stores? Or are there websites you trust to buy from?
@@joeswift3444 I usually look for a good price when searching for authentics. Going for retail shops or online distributors might not be a good choice because they have a price that might not be the best at that moment. So, I also look to find the fragrance on a forum or a national buyer/seller website. If the price is better, I go there. However, I did use EBay 2 times only, one time for Amouage Jubilation non magnetic cap and the second time for Tom Ford Amber Absolute. They did not come cheap but I bought them since I could not find them anywhere else. There are also other online retailers that I buy from, some cover entire Europe, others are just national. Keep in mind that I do not get sponsorships, I buy from my own money, I spend my own time and I use my own resources when it comes to what you saw here. This forces me to go for the lowest price I can find at that specific moment.

If the bottle has a batch code, is it authentic? since I have one that has all the qualities of an original, but the spray is not completely black, it has a metal part and that makes me a little confused. The fragrance also smells good and lasts a long time, but I think the projection is poor (the perfume is new, I've only used it once) does that influence?
If you have a batch code that does not mean it's authentic. Fakes are batched too. The sprayer could bechanged by the company in the newer batches, I do not know. If you bought it from a trusted source, don't worry.
I am only seeing this video now, I definitely got the fake/copy from Etsy 😭😭😭. Smells like the real deal from the airport, but smell doesn't last!!! I should have known, the price was very cheap.
I do not own that one but the fake box should look like the fake box of that in my video or it should be a simple white cartboard "tester" box. Stay away from any "offers" low in price.

I have just discovered this perfume and I love it… There is someone selling online testers and apparently there are different batches/back batch numbers… What can you tell me about them? Also, is there anything to watch out for in buying a tester you can tell me? I’m just an average person and almost $400 is way too much for me to spend but and I don’t need the beautiful box… But would love to have a bottle of the perfume and I think it tester is fine if it is the same. Hi, the gentleman who is selling it is on eBay and he sells mostly perfume products… He does show that it comes in a white box that says tester and also the back of the bottle says tester and there is a batch number on the bottom… He says it comes without a box, meaning the original packaging box…

Initio is gonna ruin themselves. Friends batch is very similar to mine. Mine is 80% vol,made 13 months ago. Friends also 80%vol,made 11 months ago. Both are opened at almost the same time but mine performs very poorly when compared to his. The smell is there but it's like little denser,heavier. Smell from his bottle is lighter and projects like crazy! Don't know what to do than to let it mature for some more time. Somebody having the same issues? I was happy as a dog in the elevator while buying OFG just to get disappointed! Very very extensive disappointment!

At the moment I bought this O.F.G fake I don't remember seeing Side Effect fakes, since then I did see other Initio fakes (Rehab, Psyhedelic Love), probably there are fakes for Side Effect also.
@@selenaytriton Yes, I buy everything you see on my channel. The purpose of my channel is to make you aware of the fakes, don't use the fakes even if you get them for free. It's not the same crook I buy from, they change like mushrooms after rain, they are the tip of the fake distribution chain. They are not important, their use is to track the network.

I understand, I asked for the reason to avoid the fake purchase, especially if it’s from eBay and you can mention eBay account name. I hate fakes and I just wish there was something possible to be done about it. Especially all the Russian Federation sellers that sell fake niche fragrance, or refill the real bottle with fake juice. You picked a good fake that you can tell apart but there is so many out there that look pretty much identical to the real one. And the saddest part that people buy and than resell in US. @@Sincerely_Scented I don't use EBay so I can not mention any fake seller on EBay. I show in my videos the closest to the authentic fakes that are on the market, this Oud for Greatness has no other fake variant. The version of refilling authentics with crap and sold by crooks are very rare, the majority of crooks sell straight fakes. They do not spend any time refilling with crap the authentic fragrances. Byredo is also faked, I will try to do a real vs fake but it will take a while, I do not own a Byredo by now.
LOT 808709 You are right ! I did not pay enough attention while editing the video. Lately I keep cuting as much as I can to make the video as short as I can, I put in the video the part when I said the fake bottle does not have any batch code.
Look for authorised retailers in your area. Also, you can find reputable sellers on a local level, even if they are not authorised distributors. Check their background, what other products they sell, their ratings, etc.

Hey there I just saw your video and first of all I want to say thank you for warning and informing us. Additionally I have a question because I'm pretty sure that I am in a similar situation of getting scammed and receiving a fake initio oud for greatness fragrance. First of all I want to explain my past story about affording the fragrance. So I wanted to buy the fragrance for a long time already. I always looked up online for any sales because the usual price of this fragrance is very exprensive. One day I saw that amazon had a discount of 55%. So for me the fragrance only cost 113 Euros. Of course I immediately bought it and then the first problems appeared. First of all the purchase got canceled although they couldn't really name a spiciffic reason why. Some days after I got an e-mail that the product could still be shipped. But what was really weird is the fact that in my Email the salespersons Name was "Jie Shop" and it got delivered by a China company. But on the amazon website the salesperson is a completely different and way more trustable due to positiv Feedback. So right now I'm Just waiting for the fragrance to be delivered (in total it Takes around 1 Month) and of course I am really sceptic about my purchase. I already looked up for that "jie Shop" on Google and apparently it is some random shop in Malaysia so I don't really think anything about the fragrance will be legit. But I find it really suspicious that the original sellsperson is someone very different than in my confirmation Email. Do you think that you can Help me in any way?
