If you want more power but don't want LO recoil, you can run Silk Scarf instead of Normal Gem. Your Fake Out will deal slightly less damage, however it'll make a difference when you use Last Resort

I used a set very similar to this in 1v1s about 6 or 7 years ago. The only difference was a 3rd move, Fling w/ Razor Fang as the item for guaranteed flinch. So it was Fake Out (flinch), Fling (flinch), Last Resort xD

One of my fav old gimmick sets for a 2v2 doubles was ambipom fake out, last resort with a normal gem and florgess with a choice band symbiosis helping hand and pollen puff, it’s not amazing if there is a a resist but it can kill a lot of mons which can catch opponents of guard

Quick note, timid banded low kick Meowscarda does not in fact okoh that ambipom set. It outspeeds, but only does like 80%. Definitely did not find that out the hard way lol. But honestly banded Meowscarda is fun to mess around with, especially with all the different sets. Triple axle bypasses sturdy, flower trick for dmg, knock off to deal with custap, low kick ( for hetran), trick to stop set up sweapers, and more.

@@dracomenace idk, I think it's more versatile in what sets it can run, but it lacks some of the power that chien pao has. I haven't used or seen much of chien yet tho, so I can say for sure. I've mostly been seeing this team or teams with valient and sabeleyes running around.

Time to BMT Now normally i'd try to build the most random and unviable set, but this time I conveniently already had a set to annihilate the team. Iron Hands @ Assault Vest Ability: Quark Drive Tera Type: Fighting EVs: 252 HP / 120 Atk / 92 Def / 44 SpD Adamant Nature - Fake Out - Close Combat - Supercell Slam - Earthquake Raging bolt can't 2hko it while earthquake does, and primarina has no choice but to hit endure turn 1 fearing supercell slam. Even after that, hands easily tanks anything prima sends at it. Ambipom needs no explanation.

tinkaton is a steel type you will have to watch out for with this variation. It gets fake out and sucker punch, so you can't custap it and even its play rough is strong enough to ko most if gigaton hammer doesn't do the job. If it wants to, it can run bulldoze for a potential speed advantage as well and with mold breaker, sturdy and other abilities that can override attacks won't work.

You only use normal moves why not use silk scarf? In adition to adding 12 power to fake out it also adds 28 power to last resort which is more than the 18 power normal gem offers in the long run

This was my start back in the days I was a top 10 in 1v1. Normal gem technician Ambipom with fake out and last resort. When Mega Lopunny came out she took its place. I had an anti-meta team with metal burst Aggron who could mega evolve and Mega Venusaur with a stall set

@@dracomenace I started playing in gen 5 with normal gem Ambipom, metal burst Aggron and prankster Whimsicotton. Then had my moment in gen 6 ORAS with megas (Lopunny, Venusaur and Aggron) when I was a top 10-20 player in the tier. Z-moves were a power creep for this tier and my anti-meta team was too weak for the new threats. It was fun, because to counter my teams people started running sets with protect or chip damage to break sturdy on powerhouse names like Kyurem-B.
