Do u have a link or anywhere I could buy some new ones that are real I really liked akg that came packaged with my s10e but they recently broke 2 years later and aperintly I bought fake ones that broke in less that a week I really enjoyed those earbuds and I want to find out how to get another real pair
@@CyberCatTechnologies i bought some on eBay and they broke in less than a week my left ear has sound not my right but the ones packaged with my s10e broke 2 years later with its left ear :(
The one I have is certainly original, because it came along with the original Galaxy S10+ I purchased in 2020 (from an official store). As expected, the details match with almost everything you described for the original... Except for one thing: where the cable separates into right and left, mine says "china" instead. I have many other in ears (good quality ones) and I can say that the Samsung AKG EO-IG955 sounds great, considering it came as bonus, a gift... I hope mine lasts because it is very, very difficult to find where to buy the original ones. Thanks for the video!
Just bought an AKG earphone and when I tried it, it sounds nothing like the one that came with my Samsung S8... But it looks just like the original and even came in a Samsung branded box and made in Vietnam. I thought I was gonna get my money's worth but unfortunately I'm a victim of the fakes.
I honestly don't think you can get them genuine unless you got them with the phone. Amazon and eBay need to sort their shit out. Even "Amazon's Choice" sells fakes Sellers putting "Genuine", "OEM", and "Original" in their titles need to get their listing removed. I would say ban them but they would just come back on another account. The Counterfeit market are milking the hell out of these headphones.
Got my earphone years back when i buy s10+. But today, it is broken because i forgot to take it out from my pocket and it went into the washer. Really good earphone. Now im struggling with trust issue to buy a new genuine earphone. Thanks for the video.
As someone who's last pair of working akg headphones died back in january, I wanted a new pair since I liked those headphones so much. Fastforward to today, and a new pair came in the mail, and they are so much cheaper feeling than the authentic ones that came with the phones. The volume button on the right cord doesnt even work, the audio quality isn't *bad* but it is definitely off, they feel so goddamn cheap, I really dont like them. And its sad because I fucking loved these headphones when I first got them with my samsung phone, but now? It's impossible to find a good pair that is authentic. Such a shame.
Amazing Video! I have been watching so many videos on this topic since years, but this is the video that actually helped me out to understand which one is original or which one is fake. Thanks a lot. I have an original one that came with my S10+ box and a fake one that I bought from a guy. I didn’t realise until now!
i bought a fake akg a week ago and i didnt truly know how to differentiate them. now only the right one is playing lol. thanks for the tips, will for sure put them on try for my net earphone hunt
6:13 exactly my box sold as real. The spelling mistakes made me look if it was fake or not. The paper wrap of the headphones was perfect by the way so they managed to improve that. The buttons where you can look underneath at 6:25 I have too. lol. Button click needs much more pressure and has a more loud sound. Cable is less flexible. So yes, fully agree with your analysis! De splitter shows vietnam by the way. I like these headphones because they are very thin and I can put my head on my pillow sideways with these in my ears. I have never found thinner earbuds so I stick with these.
Thanks, great video. I received the AKG earphones from Samsung because I requested them, they did not come in my box when I purchased the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G. They shipped this item via UPS envelope in black packaging, says made in Vietnam?
Watched this video out of curiosity and it is very informative. I learned so much from the video. Luckily, my AKGs are real, since they came with my phone.
@@CyberCatTechnologies sir is AKG earphones are best earphones you have ever tried please tall me should i buy this from samsung store and by the way can i get AKG wired original earphones for $30 because i have heard that lot of people have buyed AKG earphones for $30 from samsung store
I have both S10 and S8's AKG earbuds and they actually sounded different. At first I thought the one with S10 was fake since I bought my S10 on ebay...I took them apart and found they were real with the dual pull-push drivers, I couldn't put them back though. What a price to check the authenticity😂
I have a pair of akg where the cable separates into two parts on one side its says vietnam other side it says YB does the originals are also like this or it only says Vietnam? Please tell
I bought the fake one for Rs500 which is about $11 and am still using it for like 1.5 years now and they sound super good given they are so cheap... I even left it in my washing machine one day by mistake and the earphones are still good and no quality change...The earphones are very durable and are very comfy and easy to carry Edit: I didnt buy mine online, I just bought it in my local tech store...
So, I bought this fake S9 akg earphone for like 100 pesos (Philippines) or 2$ and it's a buy 1 take 1. Overall, it does feel cheap and the audio is not great but not bad too, it's okay for cheap earphones. I think I've had it for over a month and it is still working. I had many other earphones broken because I was careless and didn't have a case on. My advice is have a case to put the earphone in.
@@CyberCatTechnologies download Samsung Store and tap on headphones and scroll down and you'll see them, the best part is that you know that they are legit.
www.samsung.com/us/mobile/mobile-accessories/phones/samsung-type-c-headphones-black-eo-ic100bbegus/ I found link but will note that the reviews frequently mention one of the buds dying so maybe the quality of the usb-c ones aren't as good
I had original ones, and was so happy with them, great audio quallity and they endured so long untill one break and i couldnt fix it. than i gone to the same place and bought boroken ones, bought new ones which turned out to be fake. I put them one next to each other and all what you mentioned here is true. These differences are so visible. I cant believe i was tricked into buying fake one. Now i dont know which one to buy that will have same (or better) audio quallity as this one.
lmao mine sounds noticeably terrible and when i further inspected the build sure enough its a fake my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
I bought three because the ones I got with my Note 20 Ultra broke. They arrived today and the sound is atrocious. Of course they're fake. But the lesson is that I'm stupid and I'll never buy cheap trash online again, only from authorized resellers.
I bought my Galaxy S10 used from a friend and she didn't give me the earbuds so i got original ones on ebay for around 7€ from a person that never used them. I think it was a great deal.
The fakes i bought on Amazon didn't last 2 months and fell apart.

I bought the S10e and received the Black earphone! Shouldn't I have received the White one??? Are they giving us the rest of the rest here in Brazil???
There is a genuine white and black version from Samsung. The difference is based on the colour of the phone. However, a fake earphone can be of any colour, they try to copy original samsung earphone as best as they can. If it came out of a sealed samsung phone box, your're good.

Salesberg Thanks buddy. Mine came with the phone and looks and sounds pretty good to me!
I made sure my phone was updated. I can still hear the speakers. Then I took a closer look there is a piece black fabric sticking out. It is were the bottom of volume control and the piece of rubber to hold it in place right in the middle.
how to you get the original ones that came with the phone cause mine literally lasted 3 years and it's still working but i want another pair just in case. wired headphones have never lasted that long.
There are three ways. First check the Samsung Website, sometimes they sell them separably. But charge an arm and a leg. Next, is you can go to a Samsung store or a phone retailer and ask if they have a spare one that they will sell to you. Third is ask someone who would have bought a samsung phone recently, a model that had the earphones, but they dont want it. Dont try to buy it from eBay or Amazon, you will be disappointed. Frankly, there are a lot of good quality earphones that you can buy from brands like Sony, Panasonic, Audio Technica, and so on, they have good earphones. Or even indipantants like Brainwavz. You will get better bang for bucks that way.
I bought a fake (I'm sure) set. I just wanted a set of ear buds. I got a set at the local flea market and these were all they had. I looked up the model number when I got home and found this video. So judging from what I know about factory production, the fakes are most likely production defects that didn't pass QA. And I'm sorry that I bought a knock off. I'm not a tech person and I don't know what the top brands are. I just asked if they had ear buds. They had these. I just thought they were cheap and bought them. My last pair had a skull on them and they were from Walmart. Also, these came up for $8.95 at Walmart and $9.59 on Amazon.
By the way for anyone wondering: The USB-C ones are still being sold even on Amazon (Along with some lo al retailers in my case) for around 20 euros for me, if the seller is Amazon you can be 100% sure it's gonna be the original ones.
Just accidentally washed my original AKG buds and now the bass is broken and one earbud doesn't work. If anyone has any idea where I can purchase new, white authentic AKG Samsung earbuds please let me know!
i boughtI bought AKG Earphones at SHOPEE..today my order arrived, happily I kept trying. but unfortunately what I got was not as much as I expected..the sound produced was DESTROYED NO BASS SOUND, ONLY VOICE ORDINARY LIKE A TWEETER SPEAKER..I guess what I bought is a fake product..damn sales
I just bought fake ones for 25€ at the train station and I am going to return them asap. The only reason I came to this video is because I don't trust my own judgement but they definitely feel fake and the quality is poor ☹️
I don't know if I bought originals because they where Very cheap , but I'm pretty sure my Akg Sounds way better then my 1st gen galaxy buds. I think that's some sort of quality and originality proof.
No. The original that Samsung sold had a dark box, deep blue or black. Then again, they may have switched to white box. But what you are explaining to me, still sounds fake. Samsung officially does not list this product in their website anymore. Official retailer? Like a retailer who is officially selling Samsung products along with other products? I have doubts.
@@tkonetko9628 Just curious, which country are we you situated in. That way I can search in official samsung website for that locale. Now about the earphones, I do not know if Samsung ever sold the newer version in retail pack, or the USB-C ones. I only ever saw the old dark-blue version and that too for a very small amount of time. I remain skeptical that you have a genuine merchandise in that store. But if evidence of authenticity is shared with me, perhaps I'll reconsider my stance. Now about the Vietnam written fake earphone, how do I know they were fake. Well, its just a thing written, does not make the product any more or less fake. It was fake to start with, came out of the fake box, sold for like $10 or so. Plus, every single fake earphones has a flange on the jack, this was no exception. Genuine ones do not have that, from the first model to the last. Plus other quality issues, etc. A good fake is very hard to tell apart these days, but I held them next to a genuine one, where the issues become more apparent.
This is an informative video, however you can't compare two differences and call one fake and one genuine. Many times I've changed tooling in the middle of the lifecycle, changed manufacturing location, changed part numbers, changed components, changed finish and changed manufacturing methods that all contribute to products looking slightly different from each other throughout the sales cycle. That being said, Most of these "fake" headphones are actually genuine over stock headphones that are then sold by third party companies that purchased them in bulk legitimately.
So you have worked in your field and that has given you some experience. I've been in the tech industry since 1998, take what you will from it. Your claim that some of these earphones are genuine, in its entirety i refute. I've brought forward a number of cheap copies and shown why they are fakes. If you are going to challenge me, you need better argument than you have experience in manufacturing.
@@CyberCatTechnologies I appreciate your rebuttal, and just to clarify, I respect your experience in the tech industry and the video you've put together. My professional experience is in consumer electronics engineering and manufacturing and specifically audio electronics engineering and design, and I've put a number of these products on the shelf. I was just pointing out that if someone has a set of headphones, and they have a slight component difference, or a smaller mic hole, or a different color/finish than an older set, they might not always be a fake. Have you inspected the layout or the FCC or UL markings on the PCB inside the fakes to see if they're actually a different manufacturer?
Look, my reply was to this statement you made: "Most of these "fake" headphones are actually genuine over stock headphones that are then sold by third party companies that purchased them in bulk legitimately." A generalized broad stroke of a statement. I have pointed a number of attributes that points to a counterfeit. And I have brought forth a number of genuine items that all follow the same design details, while the fake ones done. Plus, the sound quality issue, I have also mentioned in the video. How they break apart, and comes out of the pack defective, and the packaging itself. A genuine article will act like one to, but the counterfeits that we have completely and utterly falls short. It makes me think that you have not even seen the video with any amount of attention, and just made a comment because you had to. I appreciate the input. But again, challenge me, with something more substantial. How do you know for a "FACT", without any plausible doubt that these are OEM products and not fakes. Remember I am asking for fact not general philosophy.
@@CyberCatTechnologies Hi thanks for the reply, i bought it for Malaysian ringgit RM23 and after covert to US dollar will be only USD5++. I think it is not official product because the box didn't show the item serial number.
I used the fake one. The sound produced is not satisfactory, it just works. There is one problem which is that the sound produced through the microphone is too tight. Almost inaudible.
Amazon dragging Samsung through the mud with these headphones and they know it when you call customer support they know they are fake and they allow it...
I got scammed with fakes. I lost my real ones and ordered a new pair from ebay. I found my real ones so i used them untill i forgot they where in my pants and i washed them (woops). So o got the fake set and i when i tested the sound i knew it was wrong. There was a buzz. I next tested the mic and it sounded like it had a robot sound added. I saw this video and discovered i got fakes!
This is the common theme in this comment section of the video. They got people to buy by being deceptive about the fact that it was counterfeit. Anyhow, glad that you found it back and you are enjoying it.
My experience with AKG earphones is that the one earpiece gets softer than the other with time. I returned them only to be given a pair that did the same thing after 3 months and I paid a fortune chasing after top quality...I guess my S20+ and S22 are too powerful for those earphones.
I just received akg tommorow and got apple for a long time, dude you are Samsung commercial guy nothing against Samsung but the apple earpods 3.5 mm rocks everything
I have the type-c black ones and, 1: theyre very good fakes or simply real. 2: the little ring around the logo that is supposed to be glossy and look like aluminum, for me its very matte and kinda just metally
Thats why its a good idea not to buy from Amazon. Buy from Samsung. Fyi.. AKG are bulletproof earphones, I have put them in a washer, and drier and those fuckers still work.
I have advised the same thing to many, avoid the knock offs. There are companies that did their own R&D and made good value earphones. Example ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bqdrk3yZkA8.html The Brainwavz Delta. I recommended it to so many people, and no I'm not paid by them, lol.. For just over $20 they pack so much value into the earphone. Comes with memory foam tips that alone costs $10 in Amazon. Its made of aluminum, and sounds rather nice, and that is their entry level stuff, its only level ups form there on. And this is just one example, there are so many more to talk about. So ya. Knowing this, having used good earphones for reasonable prices, I think those who end up buying knock offs, just wasted their money.
Lol mate. I dont think it has anything to do with kind heart. Its just logic, facts, figures and numbers. For the money, what would be good value, its just that simple. Watch that linked video, it will make sense to you too. You can disagree with me after that, that that is fine and understandable. But paying good money for counterfeit product is just bad logic on different levels.
