FAKE VS GENUINE XLITE100 | Differences between a fake and a genuine XLITE100 - Part 1
NOTES:
1. THIS IS A THOROUGH ANALYSIS AND COMPARISON, THUS, THE LENGTH OF THE VIDEO.
2. Hope you don't mind the audio as we tried to shorten it without sacrificing actual details, hence, the result having a weird and funny voice narrative.
3. We try to make our recommendations and explaining the reasons why, but of course, at the end of the day, it's always your money and your preferences. Do what you think works for you. This video is just an additional guide or a new perspective to help you in coming up with your decision.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buying an XLITE100 is actually a lot complicated than it really should be... in that there is a counterfeit of it and it looks well-built (at least from the physical standpoint), well-packaged and almost a perfect copy of the original. Of course, QUALITY always prevails and most of the time (if not all), it's the GENUINE that always wins (and the customer losing money should they opt for the fakes).
However, quite the contrary, it's rather very simple to buy an original of this famous tail light - YOU SIMPLY HAVE TO BUY FROM THE AUTHORIZED DEALER.
So we bought a GENUINE XLITE100 for 788 pesos from an authorized dealer - Cs168ph. We inspected everything from the packaging down to the instruction manual. This, coupled with what we've researched up to this point, led to this video. So, to reiterate, we're sharing the information we've read from Enfitnix but we also ADDED our personal and thorough observations and experiences having an AUTHENTIC XLITE100 and a FAKE one onhand.
This video aims to educate buyers on how to spot the difference between the FAKE and the AUTHENTIC XLITE100. We believe that if you know what you're looking for, you'll easily be able to separate what's real and what's fake... unless you really intended to buy a fake XLITE100 for whatever reason.
The Fake was bought a year ago and the Authentic was just purchased very recently. So, do note there's a difference in that Enfitnix might have made a few "advancements" already in the recent XLITE100 (such as the back panel or the lid) probably to stand out their original product from the fake ones. We also have different mounting here - we have the Fake on a "Saddle Fit" variant while we ordered a "Seatpost Mounting" for the Authentic for "practical" reasons. But definitely, both still can be very much comparable from one another.
For the section that covers the differences in the "Instruction Manual", we also listed some of the spelling errors of the manual coming from the Genuine package so that the manufacturer can correct these in the future versions of their product if they are made aware of them (just in case they see this video).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As I've mentioned, I ran an experiment on the FAKE XLITE100 last year just out of curiousity and it took 3 days on continuous power without shutting off. It was an amazing feat, BUT IT WAS NEVER DOCUMENTED.
So this time, I made sure to document it and while the Genuine tail light did not reach three days like the Fake, it still DID NOT disappoint. It's also an amazing feat considering the estimated runtime according to the instruction manual is just 20+ hours (the result is DOUBLED).
But to avoid having a one super long video of this FAKE VS GENUINE XLITE100, I will simply have that runtime documentation as "Part 2".
I promised to update you on the status of this authentic smart tail light after the one-year or the two-year mark (or when there's a significant update, whichever comes first), so, I envisage that will be a quick part 3 with "FINAL CONCLUSION" (which should be a short content).
