I bought the fake one without realising. It corrupted soon after doing 2 days of interviews with my grandfather before he died... and I lost all of my many gigabytes of priceless footage. Shame on the sellers.

When I started getting into dash cameras and action cameras, I I was interesting in learning the differences between the name brands, models, speed, and storage capacities of the microSDHC and microSDXC 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 400GB, and 512GB. And now, there's even a 1TB in circulation. So far, I haven't bought any FAKE microSDHC or SDXC memory cards. Unfortunately I bought also a fake one. The copy is so good. I was wondering about the missing plastic cover on the backside. I tested my „256 GB“ card on my computer and the outcome was 29,4 GB:(( Scary thing is that your video is almost over one year old and they still sell fake cards:(

First off how do you really know it's fake? I mean manufacturer's try to cut corners all the time to lower cost and raise profits. Also not trying to sound like I'm on the side of sandisk but that stands true in any business, just go to any fast food chain and compare what you get today as appose to what you used to get years ago and the price has gone only up while the portion has gone down. 4th what i found from your video. The android figure on front cover. 1. White eye bigger on fake 2. Left hand have space from body when the original one very close with some grey colour 3. From head to body obviously can see that difference 4. Ear 5. A1 wrote thicker & bold on fake memory. There is some gap for A alphabet(middle horizontal line) on the original one
@@burningice1762 you can't fix a fake SD card, the only thing you can do is repartition it to it's usable size. Fake SD cards spoof their data, so they say it's a 256 when in reality it's a 1 gigabyte. It corrupts your files when you go over a gigabyte. It is not corrupted, it's CORRUPTING the files. You cannot just add 255 gigabytes to a 1 gb SD card. Because that's exactly what you're saying.
I just bought a 128gb one from Amazon for £11 I got £9 because it’s on limited deal and I got £5 off from Amazon, I checked it and I’m so glad that it’s real

Great Video. What I Do for testing. Just Remember the card will report the capacity printed on it. Even if it is Fake! The Usable capacity is what u can use, it's a different story. Before u bin the fake one, You can re partition it to the usable size as well. Then you got a usable smaller one! If it's fake you can get your money back too. Use an USB card Reader and copy around 60Gb Files to it. When finished. Check if any files in the directory, start from the last directory on it. No files or files with 0 size it's mean Fake...
the only true way to know if it really is true or false. It's doing the memory test. the cover varies according to the production batch, as you can see the bar codes are different, which indicates that they are from different batches. the box may have small differences due to production, it happens with all products in the world.
I ordered a sandisk 128gb sd card online got it cheap, but it was printed made in taiwan on the card itself and on the pack made in china was printed and i knew it was fake they look so identical in compared to the original one.... But yes colour difference was there and shape as well the fake one was more pointy on the edges, it was showing 117gb out of 128gb i was shocked..... I did all this before i could check out yr video..... But on the internet it shows SanDisk sd cards are manufactured in 7 countries Taiwan, Japan, China, UK, Israel, Ireland and Spain... Soo now this is confusing... 😶
I was hoping that you would be able to show real from fake but what you have done is to show real from fake packaging. Once the Chinese have looked at this video they will just copy the packaging and then we will really not be able to tell. You should look at the cards themselves.
I'll tell u a very simple way to check, just call on helpline number written on it and tell them the serial number, they will conform u if it is fake or real...🤨
I have the white one that's pretty cheap, it broke even tho I used it around 2-3 months I think. It can't recognized on my PC or phones. It broke way too easily, so I suspect it might be the imposter...
You need to download for free the software called CrystalDiskMark. This software will test the speed and size of the the micro SSD not just by the looks of the package.

I bought a 256 GB SD Card then instead of copying I directly transfered my data from my cellphone to my new 256 GB SD Card, half of the files were transfered but other half were vanished that was 70 to 80 GB worth of data which contained videos and pictures that I lost which i gathered in the span of 4 to 5 years, it was agonizing for me as its not possible to recover data from fake SD CARD

Im an eBay seller and I sell those exact cards. In general fakes are getting so good it's nearly impossible to tell the difference. Ive gotten Otterbox cases from major brand retail cellphone stores that were fakes. In a year or two there will only be one difference between authentic and fake. Authentic is made in a factory in China on the left hand side of the street. Fakes are made in a factory in China on the right hand side of the street. It's nearly that way now.
Lol same with Nikes. Fakes are so good you have to use a black light, check stitching, test the new shoe smell etc all because they are made in the same materials by nearly identical factories.

Another tell-tale sign is how much you paid for it. Many times the fake ones will be cheaper. Not always, but many times. If a 512GB real sandisk one is $85 but a cheap one os under $50, you KNOW there is something amiss.
I actually could tell within 10 seconds into the video by guessing.. the depth in the green dude in the face his smile actually has depth on the right.. the right smile has a three dimensional look and the left is 2D lmao 😂
I was just about to buy this card. Most are like $20 but an ebay seller has them for $11. Hmm. The fakes lines on Android are thicker/lighter and eyes are bigger and Rt one further to left. Border around card is bigger and around adapter thinner.

the others you said, matched the original sd card, but when there was a problem on the memory card itself, the packaging said it was made in china but when it said on the sd card itself, it said it was made in taiwan
Okay so my adapter said main in China the sd card is made in Taiwan it is not sealed like the real one the green bar and 14 gb is there so I can't quite tell if it's fake or not

both of them are real/ :) the differences varies on where they original ,factory dispatch. good example is like intel processor, some made in malaysia/rico, etc,.

You can always get them on Amazon and eBay. The thing is to check to make sure they are the real thing when you are gonna purchase. I just got my 400gb card today and I had to really inspect it to make sure it's not real. Planned on using it for my Nintendo Switch but it thru me off when it showed that I have 400gb of storage instead of the exact amount of space SanDisk cards provide.
And what speed did the one that is false give you in passing data and extracting data? I bought a 64gb but the speed to pass data is 8mb and to extract 20mb. Is it fake or what? I'm filling it to the top, what should happen if it's fake and it's full?
hi, i was just wondering if i brought the original one. i have 256gb sandisk made from taiwan which is cheaper and i've indentified as fake if according to what you say, also its show 249gb free space. then i also have brought new one, also 256gb san disk made from china which is more expensive than the one made from taiwan and original if according to what you have shown. the problem is, its show 238gb free space. now i've some doubt about the new one i've just buy. was it really original or still the fake one. can somebody give me an reasonable answer for my doubt.
when you buy a 128 gb and it's showing 119 gb on your phone or pc that's 100% real one but if you got above 128 gb I'm sure that's the fake one ... because device need 8-9 gb or higher for reading the SDcard
If anyone has trouble with formatting or the card is faulty, Symbian S60V3 Nokia phones can format the card to Fat32. Later, you can format it with Android. Faulty cards, such as 1 GB noname cards can’t be formatted at all.
Dear selfish, inhumane people out there who care more about making an extra few bucks they probably don’t need than they care about other human beings TRUSTING you with their most precious & buying these…. What you put out, is what you get back, but it doesn’t happen immediately… It waits till the pain would be equal & if one thing doesn’t do it, then your in for a real run of crappy “bad luck”… I wouldn’t want to have potentially thousands of people’s heartache over corrupted, forever-lost, irreplaceable memories on my conscience or Karma, that’s for sure!!! Family members funerals!!! Family members death bed goodbyes!!! Kids 1st day of school, & their very last!!! Proms!!! Security cam footage needed to catch a murderer or home invader!!! Hit & runs on dash cams!!! The goodbyes of beloved furry, 4-legged family members!!! The moment someone asks someone to marry them!!! Family reunions!!! Cancer journeys!!! BIRTHS!!!!…. ALL of which are 100% irreplaceable & are the type of thing that’d leave a void in peoples hearts that causes a physical ache in the chest & throat every time they think about it from the moment they get that “corrupted!!!! You’ve been got by a corrupt seller, an extra few dollars for this card was worth more to them than those memories & your heartache!!!” People are ALWAYS willing to pay a bit more to know their memories are SAFE!!!! & you know, people are equally as okay to buy a fake card too… IF THEY KNOW ABOUT IT SO THEY DON’T PUT IRREPLACEABLE STUFF ON IT!!!! & there’s NO WAY you don’t know that!!! Chances are you’re not completely stupid, you seem to know how to scam people pretty good… you’re just morally paralysed!!! I see 2 more things that he missed on the front. The little tiny R trademark logo is different one is bold one is not. The A in A1 is bolder on the left than the right.
I bought the fake one too... this last christmas our memories with my family filmed on that sd card got corrupted. It sucks cuz I paid so much for it. Its 512Gb sd card btw.

Did you try to format the ,,fake" card ,,ntfs" or ,,exfat" and see again if you can store that 12 GB file on it ? Because if you used ,,fat32" format maybe that is why you can not store that 12GB file on it !
