Everybody stop buying YETI tumblers, because at $40 you're getting horse fucked....fake or not. The Ozark Trail at Walmart is the same damn thing in every detail but the name......for only $9.74. It's a stainless steel cylinder with a vacuum inside, nothing special going on there.
The Yeti tumblers are going for $30 now. The Ozark trail is so poorly designed that the lid is prone to flying out making the worst spills possible. Ozark tumblers are an accident waiting to happen especially if full of hot coffee. Now Walmart has handles for their cups which makes it less risky to use but the bottles are safeer since they will screw to close.
Thanks for the informative video! I recently got a fake orange powdercoated 30oz Yeti :-( My first clue was when I went to leave positive feedback on eBay and the listing had been removed. Second clue was that on the bottom, the text and serial number was printed very clearly ON TOP of the powdercoat. If a legit Yeti were powdercoated, the text will be covered by the paint. The counterfeiters actually tried too hard! The label on mine was very well done. Font and colors are perfect. Only clue is that it says "sweettea" where it should be "sweet tea" My little pamphlet is glossy, not matte like it should be. Mine weighs 12.3 oz without the lid, so significantly less than it should be. My lid is clear, not bluish at all, and has the frosted raised lettering. However, when you look through them, the original is clear as a glass window, while it fake is uneven and distorted. There's a RU-vid video showing the fakes do have the copper lining inside, but use slightly thinner metal.
Can you also do this with a 20oz tumbler please? I don't have a 30oz. But I would like to know the weight difference of the 20oz. I got a YETI as a Christmas present from someone who is a big YETI user. I want to make sure they didn't waste their money on a fake. Thank you! :-)
How about the air holes in the lid they are two different sizes .The little air hole opposite the drinking hole ...between the fake one in the real one, which is the real one, the larger or smaller hole? I mixed my two lid. I have to Yeti Rambler 30 Oz . One is silver it weighs 14.0 Oz .( bought at a Yeti dealer with no label at a discount)...the other is red 30 Oz and it weighs 13.8 a little lighter . But the vent holes are two different sizes. Are they both real or both fake... God only knows they both work fairly well
Haha the only thing "fake" is the label?? This is the same cup made in the same Chinese factory..I guarantee you if you did an ice comparison they are the same. Same company that makes RTIC, Ozark, etc.
Thanks. Another video says that the real Yeti has a brown border around the label. Even your "real" Yeti does not have that. Any concern for that. Sure it's real? Any thoughts? Thanks
The Yank shopper......what ever the market will bear. Bought a real YETI, $7.70 USD but purchased in Thailand. Genuine via vid and confirmation of weight. Just bought a clone YETI (advertised as) and even a bit cheaper / $6.15 USD ..... LOL Many things sold here so much cheaper, and the economy is less. My meds here are $30 a month, one script. Exact same, by exact same maker in USA, is $1500. Why ... because they can. If trying to sell here, nobody would by, they simply couldn't afford, as 5X the monthly income.
Unless your going to drink the cardboard, so what! I have looked a a couple of you Yeti police videos and all I really was wondering is does each cup keep ice cold? How comparable are they?
ok all the difference that you pointed out was cosmetic. paper crap inside and out of my Yeti are in the trash. the fake ine might still be a good cup. Put it to the test!
Are counterfeit Yeti probably is not food safe or kitchen safe in fact I heard that counterfeit Yeti has high levels of lead contamination in the steel.
does the fake one work the same? or have different melting points for the lid? like the one shown in whats inside channel, they had a knock off which had the cap melted
interesting. I bought one. did a comparison. and the things he is pointing out on the fake one don't seem to be relevant to the one I bought on wish.. my coworker has a 30 Oz that was ordered from yeti. Did a comparison.. the only difference with them is mine has been powered coated to be hot pink!
