Update: I re-cut my Cosmic Jams Vol 2 video.... and it was struck with a copyright claim again BY THE SAME ORGANIZATION! This time on a different piece of Apollo 17 footage, that is in the Public Domain and hosted by archive.org... ugh
Did this ever get resolved, James? I'm having a similar issue at the moment with a public domain video struck with a copyright claim. The company has denied my appeal, so depending on their response this time around I may end up with a copyright strike. If that happens, I suppose I go the route of submitting a counter-notification. I’m sorry to hear that Jordan! No resolution on mine either, other than the company did not deny my appeal. They never responded, which sucks, and I hope RU-vid removes their ability to do this unilaterally
I get bogus copyright claims ALL THE TIME on music that I play on my own instrument. Music that is public domaine pieces by composers who are long deceased. They claim I stole sound from their labels. I am literally playing in live concerts on stage or during livestreams and then posting and they claim I "fAkEd" it... In front of an audience... Classical music pieces... With the minute nuances in tempo and tone... That I stope these...
The copyright statement you highlighted means you cannot claim it as yours. For instance, if another person downloads the same video from your site, you cannot sue that person for copyright because it was never yours in the first place.
Someone made a copyright claim on a video I made that had a clip of a military band (Public Domain) member playing "Stars and Stripes Forever" (Public Domain).
@@JamesDavenport What's amazing is that I contested it over 6 months ago and nothing has changed. I'm grateful that they try to protect copyright, but when they let specious claims stand without challenge they hurt legitimate users.
Bud, it's because YOU have a copyright on your site or where ever you posted that NASA video. You put a copyright on that video along with all your content.
