Skins change animations for autos and other things, and Faker is more comfortable with base skins, also because he can buy more things of he's not paying for skins. Anyone who idolizes Faker would have never bought this, because his logic is sound. Doing xpeke Kass or Madlife Thresh would have gathered more publicity honestly, they just wanted to make a skin for Faker, honoring him as "the best player", not realizing the best player doesn't even use skins.

In defense of the skin. It's not really about getting it in solidarity to faker. It's like a charity and faker is the benefactor. you buy the skin, some of it will reach him. If it was 500 dollars without a skin attached but the same money distribution, no one would complain and it would've been spoken about as if it was a great way to show your support to Esports second biggest star. But just because he doesn't use the skin doesn't mean it won't support him if you purchase it. I bought the Pink mercy skin simply for the breast cancer charity blizzard was running, never used the skin despite being a high diamond mercy OTP. When my girlfriend found out, she was furious that i didn't use the skin when it's the most sought after skin in the game. To me it was always about the charity, not the skin. And this is the same way. You decide if you want to support faker or not, it's not about the skin, but you should probably look at the % of where the money goes first, like with any charity. So again, you can buy the skin and not use it, because this is about faker.
