Generally the safest way to defend against SAM missiles is to turn cold from missile and outrun it.. but there is going to be some instances where this is not an option.. This is a quick video showing how to beam the missile and break. This method allows you to be constantly closing range to the SAM threat so you can get close enough for mavericks or cluster munitions. Once you have your timing nailed you can perform this method easy enough with a CAT III loadout.
