4.37 Solves many of the barrier to entry problems that BMS previously had and should offer up the experience of being a fighter pilot in a combat arena to more people in 2023. Link to BMS: www.falcon-bms.com/
Perhaps I should try BMS again. I liked it when I tried it but control mapping just wouldn't stick and there was no default profiling for my HOTAS despite being almost one to one with the Viper.
There are default layouts for all main HOTAS-systems since 4.35 or 4.36 delivered with BMS. With 4.37 and the new launcher it's a one time setup, however you can also use the "old" profiles.
Hi Kirk, Hey let me ask you a question. I'm sitting here with 4.37 launcher open and my newly acquired oculus quest 2 and no where on my launcher screen is there a ' virtual reality' button. Your virtual reality button beneath your documentation and manuals button simply doesn't exist for me. Any ideas?
I am a Falcon fan going back to the first one for the 8088 IBM in 1988. I have all the copies still and have my original binder copy of F4 from 1998. I even remember when the source code got "leaked" out. I installed BMS this year and was blown away with it. I use only VR and it's a dream, even despite the "retro" graphics, which I don't mind. Anyhow, I am specifically looking for information about BMS multicore/thread support. Is this something that needs to be activated in BMS or something? If anyone replies, thank you!!!
The game is kinda old, so you may have to exit to change something. That should be expected. The fact they there are still features being added is incredible! Imagine paying full price for a new game or plane only to have it in alpha or beta, then having two installs, but you can't use the full priced plane in one of them because it's in beta for a year! Also imagine that you pay full price for a geographical area, but there are no missions to fly in it, but you can buy missions for it, that play the exact same way every time, it's almost like playing hide and seek by yourself. Imagine that! Also, great video by the way!
4:11 DO NOT install the game after download the installer. Procede to download the updates U1, 2... 3 if it is out, because those updates will update the installer not the game, so when you will install the game you may as well do it with an updated installer, then run it again later. 2nd. I am absolutely fine with potatoes quality. The reason I love BMS over DCS (and I started with DCS) is because it prioritize simulation over graphics, and it does not require you to get the latest RTX x090 every 2-3 years. I remember that in DCS 2.0 I had 120 FPS. by the time we got the 2.6.- 2.7 I had 45 with the same settings with no update game or AI logics. I had my first Module even before DCS was DSC. you were getting individual games for every plane and I got A10C, and later they united all under DCS platform, so I am quite an old player you may say, but when I see that my hardware becomes outdate for literally no reason, I just quit. By that time I was already playing BMS as well and to be honest I was more inclined to start BMS then DCS. I was going in to DCS to fool around in free fly servers.
