Check comments for a checklist I typed out, BUT I recommend using the BMS F16 checklist you can find in your installation folder. BMS Falcon 4.37. Quick and simplified start-up tutorial for the F-16.
Heres a little cheat sheet if you dont want to read BMS checklists that you should be using in the first place. No, its not from the manual, and yes its performing steps you usually do in flight. I don't know what 3/4 of this means but I guess it's a start. :D Thanks for the list! Problem is that you need the kb from time to time as it seems. I'm using VR so that's a bit complicated. Any tips on that topic? Like how to communicate with the ground crew in VR without using the keyboard?
I've played the first Falcon on Atari Ste and then Falcon Allied Force and then BMS 4.32 for years... I was dreaming to have it in VR and now it's a reality!! I was never able to play DCS since there was no dynamic campain. I'm so rusty I will have to relearn almost everything! Thank you for your video. Fly safe. :)
Don't sweat it man! I was (am?) in the same boat as you, coming over from Allied Force. Having to relearn everything is a little frustrating but it's just repetition. The problem with the ramp start in the docs is that every step also contains lots of explanation & advice, which is great but I decided to make a some cheat sheets where I omitted all that stuff and just wrote down the actual steps and omitted the commentary. Helped a lot. One thing to really pay attention to at ramp start: Once you've hit the throttle detent and the jet is spooling up, pay attention to those gauges! The FTIT (temp) should slowly rise and then fall back down to idle operating temperature, around 500. A couple of days ago, I wasn't paying close enough attention and experienced a "hot" start - aircraft was on fire & smoking like crazy. Good luck & have fun!
@@effsixteenblock50 Man, I just saw your answer, sorry. Thank you so much for your response. I will be careful about the new engine hot start. Fly safe brother. : )
Hey sorry for bothering, I've followed all the steps but when I increase the HMCS to full nothing shows up (I tried bringing down the visor but nothing happened)
And in the real world, the trend is toward reducing task loading on the pilot, with more and more aircraft functions being handled by automatic systems. The next gen fighter will probably have a START button, a STOP button, and be simplified to the point of stupidity. AI will handle so much of the rest.
Yes and he skipped many of the diagnostic tests that BMS has included in the ramp start. He skipped them because they're mostly eye-candy and not really necessary. They ARE done in the jet IRL every time, except when being scrambled to intercept....uh...balloons & stuff like that. :)
@@effsixteenblock50 Small correction, every test I've skipped isn't required in the game, the F16 will function normally without any additional tests 😉
