I can't help but feel like Kanye knew what he was doing. If rumors are true and they had a Dave chappell like deal in which he didn't own the rights, I'm sure he Saturated the market and devalued the hype behind the shoes. Adidas is now stuck with stock that no one really wants. All it would take is for kanye to produce another shoe to sink Adidas -YZY- boosts
If this was before he completely tanked his image and his brand, probably. But you're giving Ye way too much credit. With what manufacturing? With what money for scale? With what investors? And how many people who aren't Ye fans are gonna buy a product directly associated with him atp? At least with YB, normies didn't always know the brand was tied to him. But Ye can't use that to his advantage this time around.

EOD Money is the only thing that matters, and no one is genuinely outraged and burning deadstock Yeezys or his albums in the streets. I'm old enough to know ye has been saying dumb stuff from day one. This is just season 45. 🥷 has to apologise or disappear for half a decade and come back with a Netflix special, a new album and 10000 units of sneaker releases.
@@charleshodge6920 But there's a level where most people will allow you to get away with. What Ye has done, no one has been able to resuscitate their career over yet. He would have to completely do a 180 in order for him to revive his career. And that's a lot of work. Right now he isn't indicating he's ready to do that. Do some of the things he was talking about (homelessness, etc) Sorry ain't just gonna cut it.
@@kxyoto8541 I think Ye felt the look was saturated and couldn’t move swiftly as he wanted because Adidas is locked in by the contracts they signed to produce those shoes.
The only question I have is why does every shoe have to have a “story” or inspiration to justify the colorway?🤔 It’s gimmicky. I hope for the day where shoes can just be shoes, [nice] colorways can just be [nice] colorways, without cringy descriptions and cheesy stories.

Lol I’m inclined to believe if ppl/I like a shoe, it will be purchased, without the fanfare. #shrug Tinker started it/made it “a thing” with JB, but for some reason something about their continuation of it just doesn’t connect with me. Ultimately, I think these ‘descriptive blurbs’ created around a new shoe are what commercials used to do; just far cheaper. Literally and figuratively.
