Nice video! 55yo , 5'3", 115# gal here and I never understood oversized blazers because I could never find properly proportioned ones for me. Now I can pull out the more fitted ones I have put away a while ago. Yay with flats! I mix my metals , i dont care what people say about the jewelry "rule". I love how gray and camel work with bold colors.
They went way too far with oversized blazers. I don’t mind something slightly oversized but not oversized to the point where you could fit a family of 4 in one of them.
I am very happy about the blazer trend because I have not been able to find good-looking blazers for the last few years. An oversized blazer on a 5-foot-tall person just looks wrong. But I could get use out of this trend and buy a few blazers!!
Amen to that! I’m ultra petite and have not been able to buy any blazers in years either. Keeping my fingers crossed that there will be some shorter and more fitted ones available this year. Otherwise I’m at a point where I’m thinking about having some tailor-made 😊

I am really enjoying the "sculptural" earrings. I found a grouping of 925 silver earrings made in Mexico that were clip-ons at a thrift store. I bought them and converted them into pierced. Score!
Yes, so much yes to stinched blazers. I'm so happy to have finally found a - very casual - blazer that I actually like very much and won't leave my wardrobe unless it falls apart. I don't like oversized blazers at all. Well, I like silver a lot but I don't like how it looks on me very much. Flat shoes weren't a thing? They are my prefered style whatever they are.

I had an epiphany recently: Buying what’s “trendy” is just deciding in advance that you’re not going to like something in a few years. That’s not how you’re using the word here-you’re advising people on styles that will be available this fall that will stand the test of time longer than flash-in-the-pan trends. Because like you said, while cinched waist blazers always look good, they’re not always being sold in stores. But when I had the realization about trends above, it finally made it click for me that I deserve nice, classic clothes right now. Not when I’m thinner or make more money-because how much am I wasting on clothes I don’t even want to wear in a year or two? All my favorite things are the items in my closet that are high quality and not tied to any specific year’s trends (which are coming and going ever faster). I attribute the mind shift in part to channels like yours, Audrey. You always look great and you invest in quality, shop thrift/vintage, and approach your wardrobe thoughtfully and responsibly. It’s such a refreshing attitude-even while it also feels more classic and traditional, too.

Ok. You talked me into purchasing the navy blazer and trousers that I have been eyeing online. I love navy. It is one of my favorite colors for spring/summer. This approach is so how I shop trends! And the ones that are part of my style are silver, red, navy and flat shoes. I've added some silver mary janes, and ive been on the look out for a pair of red ankle boots for a few years, may be this is the year!
You didn't mention elevated simple neutrals, e.g. jeans and blazers, denim skirts, double denim, office chic, Miu Miu's librarian chic (cardigans tucked into pencil skirts), please could you feature those? Also coats. Thank you
If silver or gold is expensive, try the clad versions of those metals over a bronze...or try stainless steel or bronze itself, which can be more affordable jewelry.
Great video! I would love to learn how to style brown into my fall/winter wardrobe. I find it personally more flattering than black but am not sure the rules of styling!
Concerning brown (& the other earthy colors), take your inspiration from nature itself. When you go outside, you see that the brown soil, brown foliage, & brown pine cones complement the green leaves/grass, the blue skies, the orange/yellow/red leaves, the light gray bark on trees, and the various shades of taupe/ecru/white. So Mother Nature gives you the color palette that will go with brown. 😊 If you do not like brown near the face, pair a brown pant or cardigan with a white/off-white/cream...or a pastel...or a red top or sweater. Brown belts, loafers, wooden jewelry, scarves, coats, & purses can be other ways to incorporate brown. Be inspired by the quiet-luxury fashion pictures online & substitute brown into those outfits. Brown fits in well with that aesthetic...and with Fall itself.
I’m so excited by the bright red this autumn as it’s my favourite all year round and really suits me. I’ll be sticking up on knitwear and definitely a dress or two 😀 I’m also hoping to find a dark rich chocolate brown jumper to add to my collection.
I have some cinched blazers that I've been hanging on to for about 20 years, very classic and in excellent condition. Will be bringing them out again this fall :) One comment, if you don't mind... I realize designers do things over the top but maybe you could show some more wearable examples for the average person (as I find you usually do in most of your videos). Love your channel!!
I never was really into the oversized blazer ... I particular love the equestrian Smythe blazer so i'm finaly in! LOL I also love the wide leg trousers, again it took me a long time for to wear skinny jeans, so I had no hard time ditching that trend. I also like culotte, my favorite to wear all year round and i feel it's still going strong this year. I'm really into vintagey style so anything tailored, like vest, blazers and trousers I like and i feel it is easier to find nowadays in more brands
I still enjoy an oversized blazer, mostly because I will be pregnant through the fall months! But I don’t go too oversized! I land somewhere in the middle of oversized, and fitted so that it remains classic. I haven’t yet found a singed blazer I like, but I have a cinched red leather jacket that ticks a couple of these trend boxes! I really love red, but find I prefer it with accessories rather than clothing pieces with exception of this jacket, I mentioned above. I did find a really beautiful, pale yellow cardigan, and a beautiful fabric that I have been loving! I am also more drawn to charcoal gray as well this season. I have been mixing my jewelry metals more and really enjoy doing that for fresh luck. Having gold and silver together has been a great option since I am not a silver only person. Also, finding more vintage color, silver has been much more flattering than the lighter more white types for me personally. Thank you for yet another wonderful video about trends and making them wearable/cohesive with our own personal style.

I already have my red suede almond toe flat sling backs… might pair with faded wash grey cut off ankle pants and a rust colored sweater or some brown trousers with off white boat neck shirt.

Red makeup was big in 2015/16. I think it started with Pantone color of the year Marsala. Back when makeup companies were on board. I always liked the cinched blazers with the ties or the one button to accommodate for my extra pounds. Never cared for asymmetrical cuts for tops.
As far as classic color schemes for fall, camel wool trousers with a seasonless wool jacket in navy with camel and red accessories look great. I'm more of an autumn season in general, so I own lots of camel, but it can get a bit stuffy. I was wondering if camel, red and a yellow shirt would be fine, or would it be a bit much? Fall is my favorite season and, living in Seattle, it's the best season to stock up for since our winters are milder.
Try belting the blazers you have or find for that bunched look. Also, take a blazer to a tailor or seamstress...who can often take in a waist or cinch an item to more fit you. This way, you have the look...that you desire but cannot readily find.
I love these videos of yours, but I struggle buying things as I'm currently on a weight loss journey. I've been wondering if it's worth still buying high quality and getting rid of them later, or buying more budget options until I've reached my goal weight...
Buy budget friendly items for now since you are changing your body size gradually and since your style may change as well...as you find other new silhouettes may flatter your changing body size. As you change sizes, remember that you can belt garments with an actual belt, grossgrain ribbon, chain belt, or chiffon scarf...as your top/sweater/blazer/cardigan sizes change. This will reduce the excess flowiness of garments. You can partially tuck tops or ruche-up sleeves with a hidden crunchie or elastic...to take away excess bulk from a top that is getting bigger (due to weight loss). That way you can cinch in your old clothes as you change sizes. This also ensures that you are not rapidly having to buy new wardrobe things. You may be just adding in new pants and undergarments as you change to new sizes. Maybe work your way up to 5 new pants and undergarments...maybe buy those in quality and one or two cardigans or jackets. Those few quality things will make the budget-friendly things look more expensive. Look at thrift stores as well for higher quality but affordable.
Generally knits are more forgiving than woven fabrics, so sweaters would be a good place to invest, for example. You could also chose to invest in other categories like shoes and accessories, and opt for more budget friendly bottoms and tops. And don't forget secondhand! I personally like Poshmark, but depending on your size range you may be able to thrift with more success.
Thanks for mentioning silver jewelry as I've been looking for silver chokers as a change up. I love loafers also but I can't seem to find the perfect one for me, as I don't like to look short and I also take a narrow size so a 2" heel would be better for me and still feel comfortable. Good fashion trend advice!

I usually follow rules re what best fits MY Kibbe type...small hourlass figure..Theatrical Romantic.I never bought a baggy blazer ..total waste of money for me. I have to wear a regular bra for support no strapless or asymetrical neckline for me,,I have a silver handbag good quality I will use for Fall eg with navy which is my black. I will wear my statement earrings. I never wear heels, cant. I only buy what works for me never go for fads or trendy pieces. I bought a mustard yellow blazer and slacks.I buy mostly vintage. I need red shoes, have a red bag and drk red boots. I will shop for a classic red shirt in silk. I just found a short Brooks Brothers jacket current style in grey in a shop resale..will be looking for a silver grey silk shirt, slacks and jeans. I have many red dresses a bit too revealing or sleeveless that I will wear the red bolero with...also will wear it over a navy slipdress where I live ...it is the tropics so light wool is perfect now for evenings , later daytime. When I buy an item I hit Pinterest looking for ideas to combine that item with my existing wardrobe. That gives me flair I otherwise might not have....I cant think of EVERYTHING myself. I will be combining the grey jacket with my pink pieces ...Pinterest posts gave that idea.
I really hate flats. And I want to like them, but I just can’t get them to work. Can you please make a video on how to wear them? Like for example, how to stop flats from slipping off your heel while walking, how to prevent them from being smelly throughout the day, types of socks you can wear with types of flats, best times to wear them (long, short etc walks?), how to not get blisters, how to not have squeaky shoes! All of this stuff no one seems to talk about !
I was thinking the same thing. I want to like flats, but as a high arched-foot petite, it is hard to find a pair I like. In fact, I ended up selling my (overrated) Tory Burch flats, and I don’t find Everlane and Vivaia flats comfortable either-don’t believe those ads. Grerrr.
Try talking to a cobbler/shoe repair person...or a walking shoe store or specialty shoe store specialist...or even the higher-end department store shoe specialist. Ask for their most seasoned expert and they will know all sorts of answers to your question. Also search Google and I am sure you will find some shoe articles on these topics. Ask a podiatrist...for they often can answer your questions or refer you to specialty shoe stores.
Those are not "cinched" blazers; they are fitted. Moreover, oversized blazers are still quite trendy and were shown a great deal in the Fall 2023 shows, with very strong shoulders.
Very nice practical ideas that we can pick & choose from this season . However , the examples being shown on models , well ... not as relatable as when you show " real " women .
