I've liked everything featured in the video in the description box just go by the number! ❤ Let me know what shoes you're looking forward to wearing this Fall!
Just subscribed from watching your old money style. Loved all the outfits you had on. And I love classic style. I still own a blazer from 2006. At 49 I learned to buy quality over quantity and these style will last me forever
As usual, designers are trying to increase their profits by pushing non-leather footwear as desirable and trendy. Every cheap material they can find, from cloth to plastic, gets a big chunk of their advertising budget to convince us that we need denim, polyester velvet or satin footwear. These materials are neither breathable, cleanable nor durable. I won’t be spending my money on them.
Right. Same thing with leather jackets.... My old faux leather jacket didn't last long.. It just fell apart after wearing it a few times. That's why I bought a real leather jacket now. It's more durable and better for the environment.
Anna you work so hard on these videos! I am not an editor and can’t fully appreciate everything that goes into it but oh my gosh, you can tell there is so much work that goes into this. Thank you! I am someone who needs all the help I can get. You’re my “go-to!”
Well said! I look forward to watching Anna's videos not just because I'm interested in fashion, but also because her videos are so well-crafted, relatable, full of information and examples, and delivered with lots of humor ("You'll be seeing them--denim boots--whether you like them or not.")
When the chunky-sole, black, lace-up boot came back in, I just pulled out my old Rockport ones. They’re in great condition, super-comfy and look as current as any other styles I see now. That’s why I hold onto my footwear, the styles do come back, eventually. I never really stopped wearing them altogether, either. I’ve been seeing a few T-strap shoes here and there, I hope this lady-like style comes back for spring, along with the somewhat similar Mary Jane styles we’re seeing. I love many styles of footwear, from combat boots to delicate, elegant styles, they’re all good! I only buy genuine leather footwear, except for my two experimental pairs from Vivaia, which aren’t a success.
Wearing my lace up zip and buckle black ankle boots right now. I cannot tell you how old they are but I have never stopped wearing them in the fall and winter months. Kind of cool they are back in fashion.
I have VIONIC ballet flats that have an arch support in them. I have them in Burgundy, black leather red, leather cream. I don’t care if they’re out of style or in style I always wear them. I think they look great. I also have a new pair that are the two-tone that look just like the Chanel flat, I bought them on Amazon and they are beautifully made only $60😊
I liked this video and need to do an inventory of what I have. I love to shop for shoes and have many classics because that’s a go to style for me. I will add to collection when need be for different outfits and occasions . Thanks for shoe tips on trends!
Love your videos! I'm stoked to pull out my classic Nike sneaks, I already live in ballet flats, and I grew up in cowboy boots, and red is my favorite color, so 🎉 I'm finally *on trend again. About every 10-20 years, my whole closet looks like a current fashion bonanza. I can finally pull out my Calvin Klein high waist non-stretch bootcut jeans from 1999, and I'm good to go 🚶♀️ 😂
So glad I got my Birkenstocks when they were still making them with heel straps. Because I have narrow feet, slip-ons fly off my feet with the first step. I cherish them, and have had them resoled twice so far.
A Fl girl here, love boots the 3 winter days we can wear them without melting. I love wearing half summer half winter clothes ❣️ Love watching and wearing trends. Luckily non of my friends are into fashion so I get to wear whatever makes me happy year round! 😉
I love the variations in shoe styles. Fashion in general is so all-encompassing right now that with a little tweaking, we can look current. Keeping footwear for years that you love, still in good shape, will most likely come back around again. Reading the comments I see many of us are attached to a pair we've kept a long while. In high school (in the 60's..yikes!) my friends and I wore black leather, pointed toe flats with our pencil skirts and to change the look we would buy different clips like the one you featured in the video. The more variations we had made it appear that we had a huge collection of shoes 😅 and I have ALWAYS loved shoes!! I'm clomping around in my Mom's high heels in the first home movie my Dad filmed. I was 3. 😂 Love the video, Anna. You look great as usual!! XXOO ❤
Love this!! Love the memory from high school, it’s funny how with fashion we can always remember what we wore in high school better than any other time! ❤️❤️
I bought a pair of black Steve Madden wedge boots last fall & they’ve been my go-to boots, for sure. I also bought a pair of tall, black, lace up boots, thinking I’d wear them a lot, but I honestly only wore them once. I’m currently looking for a knee high pair of black leather boots. I’m thinking they will be a better option for me than the lace up ones. I need to be more careful on what I buy fashion-wise, as I get older (I’m almost 59). I see something trending that I really like, but then once I try to wear it, I don’t like it as well (ex-black lace up boots, lol). I will always love my Dr. Martin’s combat boots though! 😊 I really appreciate your videos, Anna. I learn a lot from you! Thank you! P.S. I think that denim boots are adorable, but I don’t see myself wearing them enough to buy a pair. xo
Many years ago, I had a pair of fold over boots with a small wedge on them that I thought were great, that was until my father told me they made me look like a clydesdale horse and since then, that was all I could see whenever I styled them.
I'm loving cowboy boots and red for Fall. I have some red cowboy boots too, that I've had forever, already wore them once this season so far. I wore them with bootleg corduroy jeans, love that look. Looking forward to that look becoming all the rage again. I'm also still loving sling backs and almond toe flats. Thanks for the fashion inspiration!
Love your videos. I am a fashion conscious woman who is going to be 70 years old sooner than I had ever expected. I have always been fashion conscious since I was a young person… And to the point that I was voted best dressed in my senior year of high school year at a big city public school. My dilemma is that, although I love the shoes that you spoke about, many women over a certain age need to be conscious of the shoes we wear. Unfortunately, it’s not healthy for our feet or comfortable for us to wear many of the trendy shoes. Is there a video or a person that you could recommend to me that has the same sense that you have but specifically for women over 60. Many thanks, Debra D
I love the sock boots! I really have been wanting the Birkenstocks and i wish I could find a pair of maroon knee high boots. As far as the fold over boot… they are affordable or you can diy them.
Thank you sooo much for always following through! The numbering is super helpful! It’s great that Converse, Birkenstocks, combat and cowboy boots are always wearable. I need to get some new boots as mine are way worn. I’ve seen some knee high boots lately. Are they back? Blessings to you! ❤️🙏
Knee high boots are great! The more structured / square and almond toes are looking more current but it really all depends on the shoe.. and of course if they are comfortable! ❤️❤️
I was wondering about the classic riding boot. Mine have bit the dust after many years but I'm not sure whether to buy new ones or not? Enough of a classic, so yes? With skinny jeans going away, how to style them other than with a skirt?
I haven't ever liked the wedge boots (I like wedge sandals), fold over boots or cowboy boots. Still don't. Even at 51, I am still more of of sneaker, birkenstock, loafer girl. I am undecided about ballet flats. Love your videos!
I'm still looking for a pair of red ballet flats! I hope this is the season I find them. I love slouchy boots, but only with a low heel. I wouldn't want to negotiate wintry weather in high heeled boots - one icy pavement and I'm toast! Birkenstocks in a Scottish winter? Ground breaking! It's currently very windy and rainy here - I'm too old to go out without socks! 😄
If you can't find red ballet flats, just find some white/cream leather ballet flats and take them to a cobbler to dye them red. Problem solved. I have some nude ballet flats that I have found that I never wear, but I think I'd wear them more if they were brown. So I'm about to dye them brown.
Love your videos. Im a shoe girl but also wear a size 10 so i feel limited in my choices. 😢 I'd love to try adding red shoes to my collection but with a big foot you dont wanna draw attention. 😂
I like everything else, but not the fold over boots and ballet flats. I actually think that the ballet flats look better with skinny jeans, not so much with the wide leg ones 🤔
How do you feel about hiding outdated skinny jeans by tucking them into knee-high or thigh-high boots, as long as the boots are on trend, I.e.wedge or slouchy?
Hard pass on the wedge shoes. Also not a fan of denim boots/shoes. Happy to see buckle boots and cowboy boots. Love me a pair of jeans, leather jacket (timeless, yes?), and boots in the fall/winter. That's my uniform. 😁
Are Chelsey boots not in style currently? Also, for sneakers, as much as the Adidas sambas and retro/retro inspired sneakers are on trend right now, they’re just not my style and wouldn’t even know how to wear them; they seem more like something the younger people can sport 😅 What about something more classic like the Veja campos? Please do a jeans video! I don’t know what jeans are in style now and which shoes go with what type of jeans.
Loved your video of the shoe trends, even when I may not buy much. It is still fun to see where fashion designers are putting their time. I don't tend to buy a lot of shoes each year. Mostly, I buy footwear to fill a particular but versatile niche -- casual flats; ballet or other dressier flats; a pair of sneakers (especially for walking); moderate heels for dressy slacks, dresses, skirts, etc; occasionally, a modest wedge sandals; summer sandals (1 or 2 pair) -- they are usually in some form of neutral (black, navy, tan, brown, beige/nude, ivory/white), and I keep them forever or at least until they wear out. Regarding the video mentioned trends for fall, I have some (off-)white Tretorn sneakers that I have had for years which I will wash (they are canvas) and check to see if they need new shoelaces. I am getting a new pair of loafers as my casual go-to. The current ones are a bit worn, and I need options. Since red is very much a favorite color in my closet, I am adding at least one or two pairs of red shoes, probably a pair of low heels, a pair of ankle boots, and maybe something else. A lot of my wardrobe are neutrals and I love the idea of mixed neutrals with the pop of a red shoe. 👠 Recently, I was drooling over a pair of Western inspired knee high(?) boots with low contrast embroidered stitching. Problem was the interior calf circumference was close to being too small. I am usually restricted to ankle boots because of a dancer's athletic calf muscles. The boots were almost big enough, but they weren't leather but PU and wouldn't be able to be made to stretch to fit. Shoes/boots cost too much (for good ones) to compromise on quality or fit.
A side comment. I love the look of sling backs, but don't seem to be able to wear them. The ankle strap is always falling off my heel as I step out of my shoes. So, I've given up on sling backs even flats or kitten heels. 😿
I wear combat boots n fishnet stockings im into emo stuff i have converse hi top sneakers too but they dont make the style anymore. I will make a video of my 200 pairs of boots . I have a clothes addiction. I love your channel subscribed
Anna i have so many of these boots that are from 10+ years ago. I have a great pair of burgundy wedge booties, i have a pair of suede black slouchy knee high boots that slouch down to my calves sometimes but i have kept them because i love them. I live in Tx we all have multiple pair of cowboy boots. We wear them for anything including the rodeo. Here in the dead of winter with colder temps (40s-50s) you will see flip flops with hats and coats,
Hi Anna I love your top. I like boots with an edge and my fav black ones finally bit the dust. I have hard feet to fit so I can not be the shoe person who has hundreds in her closet. 😢
@ANNAREID i saw you have a pair of Vivaia shoes. I'm considering them. How do you like them, are they wearable, do they give sore spots..? Please elaborate :D
I love mine! I started with the pointy toe flats, they are incredibly comfortable and I even have a bunion so these have always been off limits for me! Love them ❤️
Soo many to choose from! Wedges are not for me, 5’10 so I’ll go for more black, light blue or navy sneakes, boots, burgundy loafers, magenta slingbacks and pointed toe heels! Bye from 🇸🇪🌬🍂🌦🍁
Tried that. Got genuine Converse canvas. Ugggghhh. My foot was much pad-dier back when I was a teen. Now, without sole support and cushion, they're my most uncomfortable shoe.
Here you go! bit.ly/46EElTG here are the red slingbacks bit.ly/3tpgeu8 Can you tell me which links aren't working? They are working on my end but I can do some digging if I know which ones are causing problems ❤️
I have an old pair of navy suede slouchy boots. I don’t love them, but they were the only navy genuine-leather tall boots I’ve ever been able to find, at least in standard calf size. They have round toes and are short in the shaft for knee-high boots. I’ve seen many wide-calf ones, but they don’t work on my super-skinny legs. I don’t understand why boots in such a basic color are so difficult to find, I’ve been looking for 25 years, since I bought the slouchy pair. I got Vivia’s pair of knit navy knee-highs, but I don’t love them either. In person, they look cheap with their black molded plastic, weirdly-shaped heels. They are really difficult to get on and off, too, despite my child-size calves, and are hot to wear.
I like most trends. The Adidas retro sneakers remind me of my teenage years. Grew up with them. I do not like the wedge boot and heel though. Not my taste. Do you remember the sneakers with a hidden wedge? I sure don’t want those to come back.
Thank you for this! I am a boot NUT. I was disappointed that so many are so high though. I bought a pair and they fit in the store, then I put them on and went to sit down and that was not comfy as they jabbed me in the back of the leg. Oh well. On another note, i can't wait until the trend of cut off clothes - with no hem - goes away. The only time I like to see that is on cut-off shorts. But long pants, coats, shirts - JEAN JACKETS? - NO NO NO.
I have been looking for shoes with unusual heels. When I saw the picture of the black sling back black shoe with the cut in heel, I couldn’t find it with the link. Can you tell me where it is from? I am a shoe fiend, probably because my father owned shoe stores when I was growing up.
Yes to Adidas Gazelle and Samba, slouch, combat and wedge boots, and Birkenstocks. Noooo to bows, peg heels, sling backs, fold over dowel leg and denim boots🙈😣
Not out. It’s just the clothing companies now pushing a slightly different shoe to squeeze profits off the same people they already sold Chelsea boots to in previous seasons. They change up the shoes they sell by making people feel left out… I love Chelsea boots. All this means for other shoes that they’re not currently pushing for profit is that the selection is smaller.
I wish these trends would include living in cold climates. We have winters that have 4 to 5 inches of snow all the time. I'm not wearing, no socks, tennis shoes, any kind of sandal shoes, short boots ,crazy holy boot shoes. We need : warm, tall, cute boots... shoes extra. I see all these styles and yes they are cute but they are not practical at all in any cold climates. All of these short pants with your ankles hanging out, is freezing in the winters. So once again practicality is a big deal.
Told you that nice combat boots are always a good idea! Just bought my third pair, have one bulky with platform and buckles, a platform with zipper and flatter more combat style with laces like yours. They fit almost everything (I wear them under almost everything except a nice cut pants, but if the legs are wide enough even then :p ), walk heavenly, can make your look both edgy and tough. They are my favorite shoes all-time :) Of course a nice knee high or over the knee (if elegant) is also always lovely in colder weather.
Red purses are my signature. Found the perfect red purse years ago. Large, snap closure fire engine red bag you could wear on your arm or shoulder. It was big enough to hold my things without being HUGE. Was structured so it stood up on its own. Looked good casual or professional. I loved that bag. Then it finally wore out and I have NEVER been able to find another bag to match it.
Chunky soles all the way. When you live where I do (Vancouver Island), black ice is a constant in the winter. We get very little snow but A LOT of black ice. Smooth soles or high heels would be a scary thing to wear in the winter. For those who don't know. Black ice is the ice that is invisible, you don't know it's there until you step on it, then, if no chunky sole, an unceremonious landing on your butt.
So far not one fashion RU-vidr has shown a cute lace-up shoe (aside from sneakers) that can be worn with socks so I am assuming they do not exist. Living in the chilly Midwest with autumn highs typically in the 40's and 50's, going without socks is impracticable. I am looking for something nicer than a sneaker for nicer events where sneakers are not a good choice. So far we have only sockless lip-on options, and then directly to boots/booties. Nothing in between. I will be in boots/booties for the truly cold months so I do not want to start wearing them this early. If you spot any cute lace-up shoes that work with socks please share them with us Midwesterners Anna. Thanks!
The birkenstocks are simply not a functional fall shoe for those of us in colder climates. I could imagine them working as house slippers with thick socks. I can't wear suede shoes in the fall, impossible to maintain with the rain. The shoes need to be entirely closed and water resistant.
Denim boots? H**l to the no. That is tomorrow's neon footwear. And just think how poorly they will wear/how quickly they will wear out! Talk about flushing your money down the toilet! I'm happy boots with a wider profile on the calf are coming back - I need them!!!
Dear Ms Anna, YEAH!!! RED! BALLET FLAT SHOES... and the cutie bows!!!!....N I C E! :) (....mmm....slouchy, wideged and folded over boots; sorry....Teehee, not for me) ;) It is a helping video to know....how to clean our shoe closet! :)) helene
I want red pointy to poss slightly almond ballet flat, thinking brogues and a Chelsea boot … they are so far out of style that my prediction is they are coming back …
