Love the frittside. My favorite flat side for dropping water temp. It’s a slower rise than balsa. Cranking is a fun bite… great video

4lb!!! That’s awesome! Fall bite has been sllooowwww for me. Most success I’ve had is with the ole rat l trap. I think that click might be Daiwa. I’ve got a Coastal SV that sounds exactly the same and I baby that reel. But functionally it’s sound.

Debo, do you think it was the lure or just the “bite window” opened up? Many pros seem to refer to certain times during the day will be the only time the fish are biting. Just one more factor to add to the many variables when I am making my poor decisions 😜

I swear getting on the water just open up a lot of fishing area to cast , compare to shore where you’re limited to open space along the shore .. plus lugging all those gears and then having to put them down , just to pick them all up after a few min

Speaking of reels. I have a Cabela’s Black Label casting reel that I bought brand new for $150 about 15 years ago and then it sat in the corner of the garage for 15 years. Now I’m back fishing but the reel feels stiff, even after cleaning & lubing it. It’s smooth and quiet, but stiff. Any suggestions on getting it to loosen up, or should I admit defeat and just buy a new reel? Thanks & love the channel!!!

Good job glad to see you catch some bigger fish. Did you add some suspend dots to the bottom of that crankbait or did it come that way. I think I have a fritzside but I never used it. I'll have to find it and break it out

That Frittside is one of my favorites. Sometimes when water is cooling down they like a silent bait better and it has a more subtle wiggle.

Fun day on the water for sure ! It’s amazing how the bite can turn on and off or how specific a spot you have to cast . I was out Friday morning and if you didn’t throw the bait just on the outside edge of the weeds you wouldn’t get a bite. A foot out towards deeper water and nothing !!
