Feeding bees can be controversial among beekeepers and it can also be confusing; should I feed my bees? When and what should I feed them and how?
This video covers feeding your bees in the fall and the options you have for feeding them.
There are generally 3 options available:
1) Feeding them back their own honey that was once already harvested.
2) Feeding them a sugar syrup mix (1:1 ratio in spring/2:1 ratio in the fall) That's one pound of sugar to one pound of water.
3) Not really an option in my opinion: High Fructose Corn Syrup. This is a pesticide-laden by product of the corn industry; a cheap and easy feed that many commercial beekeepers use to supplement their hives with.
