A look at the making of the hit TV series 'The Fall Guy' about Hollywood Stuntman Colt Seavers as he moonlights as a bounty hunter. Great memories and very fine stunts.
@@cartoonfan959 The first iconic string of shows beginning with "J.J. Starbuck" (1955 - 1988) as creator, writer and executive producer under his own indie banner, Stephen J. Cannell Productions for Desilu/CBS Studios. Followed by "Baretta," "The Rockford Files" (for which he won an 1978 Emmy), "Black Sheep Squadron," "The Greatest American Hero," "The A-Team," "Hardcastle and McCormick," "Riptide," "Hunter," "21 Jump Street," "Wiseguy," "The Commish" and "Silk Stalkings." As well as developing, financing and producing many features such as "Somewhere in Time" for Universal, the original "Rambo" trilogy for Lionsgate/StudioCanal and both "Bill and Ted" flicks for Warner Bros. Pictures.
Fall Guy, Airwolf, A-Team, Black Sheep Squadron, Riptide, Magnum PI, Nightrider, 240 Robert, SWAT, The Duke's of Hazard, Chips, & a bevy of other fantastic shows really made the 80s & 90s iconic, in how they helped to mold young kids of my generation's personality, & creativity. I thank GOD for those shows back then!
When I was a little kid the Fall Guy was one of my favorite shows-along with Dukes of Hazzard, Night Rider, the Incredible Hulk and V the Series. Let’s not forget the A-Team!
Fall Guy had such an impact on us 80's High School guys that we all sold our Firebird's & Camaro's and bought pick up trucks and lift kits. Too funny!!!!
My favorite 80's Television show!!! Colt was my hero all through the 80's and 90's!! And Lee Majors seems like a great guy!!! WE ALL LOVE THE FALL GUY!!!!
I had both Heather posters (Thomas and Locklear) on the wall across from my bed so I could see them every morning when I woke up. Not a bad sight to wake up to.😁
I was 8 when the 80's started and 18 when it ended, the most impressionable years of my life. I to this day I still have the Heather Thomas in the pink bathing suit in the hot tub poster!
@@patricksimmons9853 She looks awful, like a slightly melted waxwork dummy of herself. Markie Post though is still stunning, and has aged fantastically.
Wasn't it Farrah fawcett because she's one of the actresses from that era with that name and the only actress that I can think of from those days she's dead now but she was beautiful
What was interesting was that The Fall Guy debut in 1981 after The Original Charlie's Angels got cancelled and both shows were Videotaped at 20th Century Fox Studios
@@hepchaos technically they were still married, but according to Lee Major's biography on Wikipedia, they were separated at the time. I see him asking her to do a cameo and her acceptance, as well as the lines was to publicly convey "no hard feelings" with their break up.
Ah I was a friend of David Somerville, and Glenn, which wrote the theme song and lived in the real Fall guy house, and I also new Glenn larson, I was so lucky to know both of you guys, and will never forget both of you, so much fun going to the Fall guy house and just hanging out, the thing was, I was always a fan even before I met Dave and Glenn, so the first time David said, I live in the Real Fall Guy house, I said what, then we drove up on the hill, if you guys are reading this, and know about the Real Fall guy house, it is close to Universal Studios, in LA , Thank you so much for all the memories, miss both of you, RIP,
This show is still watchable today with some fun episodes and great cast/guest stars. Airwolf... ugh... why did we think that was good? Like Knight Rider, the vehicle was 100% the star.
I remember watching this back in the early 80's on ITV in the U.K, when it first aired. And having to wait for the show called 'the Gaffer' to finish, which was on just before. The wait was pure torture for a young kid like me, but always worth it in the end. Fantastic series, 80's tv at it's best!
Lee truly is perhaps yhe best in the business. Been a HUGE fan since the "six million dollar man." I got to meet Lee at New York City's Big Apple comic con between 2010 & 2012 (give or take a year or two); what an awesome experience. One of the nicest, friendliests stars I've ever met! Will never forget shaking his hand (he gave me one of the coolest urban handshakes ever!!) Hoping to see him again one day.
I built a Truck based on this show. I constantly made changes to my suspension until I could jump it like this without busting it up. Success and good times.
I still watch this daily on RU-vid...Growing up in north western Canada I watched a lot of tv series...I am so glad some old shows were uploaded to RU-vid,I wish I could watch all the 60s-70s-80s-90s tv series on here...
One of the best shows ever, still got my autograph picture from Heather Thomas from 1985! She was at the Cavalcade of customs signing autographs in Cincinnati and I was a young boy in Love
The Fall Guy an all time classic. And yes Heather Thomas is an very very underrated actress. I would infact put Heather up there with Lucille Ball and Kirstie Alley for comic timing. She was in an episode of TJ Hooker and I was in stitches laughing. Fond fond memories as a kid from England UK Plus Lee Majors has a very spooky Elvis vibe going on I always thought
4 years on from your post, but maybe something will come out with the Fall Guy film being released this year. It's not along the same line though, which is a shame. Jody was a stunt woman so quite progressive enough for these times. And the person hiring Colt for bounty hunter work was a woman too. Nope, gotta make the main female lead the woman in charge of everything.
The irony is that Lee Majors is STILL (some 40 years later) best remembered as Steve Austin, Astronaut, The Six Million Dollar Man. (But I guess it depends on your generation. I am sure some people recall him best here, or in The Big Valley).
I remember reruns aired in syndication for the first few years after the show ended but then it seemed to leave the airwaves for forever. In the 90s eighties action shows would turn up on cable channels but not the Fall Guy. TV Land didn't even pick it up. Only the first season has ever shown up on streaming.
Growing up in the 1980s in England my favourite shows were hill street blues, Rockford files and the fall guy. In England in the 70s and 80s we had a comedy/ drama called Minder about a bodyguard and a hit series called The Sweeney about a tough police unit in London which still get re runs to this day, Lee majors was perfect for the fall guy.
This was my favorite TV show as a boy. In retrospect i believe this show had quite an impact on many views in my life. What makes a man a man. What is a cool car. That it's important to be helping and respectful. How is life in the USA (i am from Germany). Working hard and having two jobs to pay the bills. And so much more. Thank you to everyone involved in that show ❤
Because of Fall Guy and Hooper I went to stunt school, did 1 movie and a few commercials, hard to get into, so I ended up in construction, but I still think of those days in the 80’s.
The Fall Guy did 2 things for me back in the day. 1) It made me realize that Catherine Bach (the REAL Daisey Duke!) had some competition. 2) Gave me a love for GM "square body" pickups that continues to this day. I bought my first one (78 GMC K-35) back in 84, and still have her. I've also bought, restored, sold and kept countless others. I currently own 5 that are keepers.
Glenn Larson made so many shows in the 1980s that I loved. I don’t know what my childhood would’ve been like without them. I just wish when they make the great TV shows into movies that they at least would follow the premise of the TV show and the true fans that grew up with that show. The original TV show was about a stuntman who was a part-time bounty hunter? The new movie has nothing to do with bounty hunting, it’s a stuntman that’s looking for some movie star that didn’t show up for the movie, Whoopty, Ding!!!
I just noticed how long the intro of this tv series is some days ago. And nobody never was bothered about that. It just brings your mood ready to watch the show.
