Not long after starting medical school, I decide to head to the nearest trout stream in Nebraska for some fall fishing. In addition, I did a reconnaissance mission to a new lake/pond that is rumored to hold cutthroat trout, a rare species for Nebraska. Although my initial attempt was a failure, I headed back about a month later and landed my first Nebraska cutthroat! I also landed my first Nebraska brown trout, as well as several stocked rainbow trout.
